Clever girl, and that's why they get sent back, but try explaining to a Roma who has to provide for his family by bin-diving because he never learnt to read because the teachers in the schools would rather humiliate than help him and can't get a job or even fill out the forms to get the pitiful handouts the State grudgingly gives that he is actually only poor and not repressed and therefore can't expect or try for a better life somewhere else.
===================================

The same can be said of anyone living in Serbia or anywhere else in Europe. At least they are not being ethnically cleansed like they were in "Kosova".
Sure, people do discriminate against Roma and I am very upset about that, but it happens in Hungary, Romania and other countries. It's not right and it must be stopped somehow but don't just blame Serbia for it. "Kosova" is much, much worse for the Roma. Clean up your own house before you comment on others.

"It is the Albanians fault" again. Of course, as usual. Nothing changes in Serbia. That is discrimination at the state level. Even if it were true that 95% are Albanians and Roma he should not say that publicly.
=======================================

Why not? Why is telling the truth discrimination now?
Don't shoot the messenger. Try being good citizens for a change and there will be nothing said about you. I guess being good citizens is not in your DNA.

"Contrary to the global decline, however, there was a sharp increase in the number of asylum-seekers from Serbia (including Kosovo), which topped the global table with an 8% share of the total claims lodged in 2010. It was followed by Afghanistan (7%), China and Iraq, with 6% each, Russia and Somalia, each accounting for 5% of the global figures, as well as Iran (4%)." - SE times

The number includes Kosovo; Now we know where those asylum seekers are from.

And speaking of repression and discrimination, isn't it strange how loudly the fat f... is saying Schengen Visas are in danger because of the Roma, Albanians and Bosniaks, while the EU is saying the opposite.

Thanks gr, I thought the same thing. A minister of the government is publicly blaming one part of the Serbian citizens of different ethnicity for ruining the deal for the Serbian citizens of Serbian ethnicity. Brewing interethnic conflict again. "It is the Albanians fault" again. Of course, as usual. Nothing changes in Serbia. That is discrimination at the state level. Even if it were true that 95% are Albanians and Roma he should not say that publicly. And then "There is no discrimination". Absurd.
Jeff and Ataman, care to comment about the article and not other things? Don't worry there will be plenty of occasions of articles on B92 about how corrupt Kosovo is etc etc, you'll get your chance.

Mr. Nobody - you are a windbag. Go and defend your "Presheva" with deeds. You do nothing, except pretend to be an important guy. In the reality - a self-obsessed loser. Plus dumb to the extreme, too.

Wouldn't say a word if you would not be a coward who did not dare to face people you kick every day here.

Any self-respecting Albanian with besa would spit in your face.

Thanks, Jeff - people indeed feel the same all over the region. The only thing I can comfort you with: the salaries in new E.U. countries aren't that much better than in Kosovo and the thieves-in-charge ( = "government") is pretty much the same, regardless of the party they claim to represent.

The only difference: people can travel easier because of less visa restrictions and there are more jobbing opportunities.

You may say to Roberto & Co. that a dumb "ally" causes more harm, but hey, we know that pest since a while. Pardon my harsh words, that idiot deserves them.... and not because he is "pro-Albanian".

really, what an arrogant SOB is this Dacic!

first of all, there is prejudice and discrimination against minorities in every country, even in the US. to say there isn't is a stupid lie, but in serbia's case it is a whopper. try talking with members of minorities in serbia, instead of speaking for them. things are worse for albanians and bosniaks then they have been since the milosevic era, which is saying a lot. particulary tense in preseva-- there is a very strong push for autonomy there due to the conditions imposed by belgrade, incl the infamous arrests, torture and convictions of the 9 men in one of the belgrade kangaroo courts (still on appeal.) don't even get me started.

dacic is perfect for this govt -- you have nationalist tadic; radical jeremic; nationalist/socialist dacic. what a "holy" trio.

I happen to agree that 99% of the people which seek asylum now a days do it for a economic reason and not political. Whether you live in Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia or Bosnia the living standards have plummeted. Each country needs to do more to raise the living standards of its own people.

As a Kosovar Albanian I am very pesimistic that the current govermment in Prishtina can do anything positive to improve the lives of its citizens. In my eyes they are just enriching themselves with each passing day. I hope the rest of the peoples region dont feel the same about their current goverments because it is very depressing. It gets even more depressing when you listen to the main news in the evening and our PM boldly proclaims that we have made progress in all fields. Oh really as?h???? But then again politicians in our regions dont have economic troubles. They are it..the elite. They are the Trumps, the Gates, the Jobs, the milionares of the balkans without ever inventing anything good for the society.

If all of the Albanians would leave Serbia's territory, then there wouldn't be any false claims seeking asylum.

Why are Albanians embarrassed to admit that they are of Albanian ethnicity. You would think they would be proud that they are a 10,000 year old tribe of Ilyrians?

Only Albania has totally clear sheet about the newcomers in the free-travel Schengen zone. Serbia appears to be the worst.

Time to get serious before Serbia becomes a black hole of the region, once again.

Serbis needs to undertakes reforms in order to get closer to the EU standards, especially needs to catch Croatians.
