Hi Zoran

I am glad that you are irritated too. At that cost I think it is worth the price!

It's lot cheaper than the NATO interventions that were needed to bring a halt to the murders. Good that the murders were stopped at any price. Not only did they destroy the lives of many many people, the complicity of Milosevic also denigrated the name of Serbia in the world to a level of pariah status. I am glad that those days are over and intend irritating nasty nationalists as much as I can (even with the help of NATO where possible).

… and as I have said elsewhere, not all Serbs are nasty nationalists. If you are one, please get over it and enter the wider world - it is a better place despite your embittered view of it!!

To "Another Canadian Serb"

You have not read my posting properly. Your interpretation is asserting that all Serbs are nasty nationalists.

I assure you that many Serbs are NOT nasty nationalists and do not share the bigotries that seem to motivate your comments.

It is you that has made that false assertion - not me.

The Hague gave Milosevic a much better time than his stinking politics did to the lives of many - yes about the murders in Bosnia, but also including the disgusting way he stole from Serbs using inflation and lies.

I want nasty nationalists to be irritated - and good if it got you too.

If that is his "best", I have no idea why this case is still going after 8 years. That video, in fact, is legendary. Why shouldn't he say that to people who have kept him locked away unjustifiably? Sure, some of the things he said aren't nice (the spoon thing) but I see no reason, apart from political, for keeping his trial going indefinitely.

Maybe you have a link with something else he said that justifies it? Please provide. Actually, that goes for everyone here who thinks his hate speech justifies this case. Please provide a link with some of he speeches that justifies this case. I want to know what he said.

Bob!

Have you ever heard of a court that prosecutes a defendant for 6 years and still no verdict, but the defendant mysteriously dies. Or how about another case that is currently in it's 8 years of prosecution, but still no verdict.

I have, it's called The Hague.

But i am glad that you find this working and successful court one that irritates Serbs.

Bob

Please keep attacking the Hague - it is designed to upset the thinking of nasty nationalists and it seems to be working.

When you attack it, it proves to me that it's work is vital and must continue.

The Hague is a court set up to challenge - and those of you who challenge the Hague are the ones whose it is designed to irritate.

Long may it irritate you.

Unbelievable to see anyone defending Seselj. He was one of the biggest promoters, defenders of, and participant in hatred, ethnic cleansing, and war crimes. Remember he said “I hate the Croats so much that I would have liked to gouge their eyes out with a rusty spoon.”

Defend Seselj, you defend hatred and murder. Shame!

It's a general problem of the justice system that a person who is shooting a single man will be convinced for murder easily. People like Seslj who incite hate and inspire his followers to kill, loot and and slaughter are 'not guilty'. So, imagine if some followers of the BNP will go and kill 100s of people, repeating the words of their leaders. Don't you think the BNP leaders will get in trouble, too?

What did I tell you? They will never release Seselj. They will kill him in jail like they did to milosevic. The hague is not a court of justice; it is just a western political organization - the UN senior executives have no control over the hague. They are like those cowardly referees in the american NBA - they call a foul on one side and when that side complains, the referees make up a foul on the other side to "balance" the game. The hague convicted gotovina so they now have to keep seselj in jail to "balance" their stupid political game.

Danilo whilst its true that the freeing of Seselj will split the 'patriotic' vote, it doesn't mean that DS will have enough to rule with SPS, LDP and minorities.

If we are speaking from the perspective of the impact of Seselj on Serbian politics I could actually do without the circus type of politics that he creates. Certainly I believe that Serbia is a different place from when he left, but not drastically so. All that water throwing, badge wearing, slogan chanting, stupid shouting is plain embarassing. We need less of that in Serbian politics, not more.

On the charges I'm inclined to agree with the judges on this one, there is evidence to show that he is guilty of some of the charges they have accused him of. However, it seems that on the serious charges the prosecution haven't managed to prove much, even though they have had him in custody for years.

Seselj should drop his defence, the prosecution should speed up the trial and if / when he is found guilty on minor charges he can still be out in time for the election. Most will be relatively satisfied by this solution.

If the Croations, Slovenians and Bosnian Muslims didn't illegaly separate from Yugoslavia, then there would have been NO paramilitaries running around killing Serbians in the first place.

The leaders of the British National Party (BNP) have been doing that for years and they still walk free.

I know Seselj has a big mouth and I'm not particularly fond of him but this trial is a complete farce. It is obvious they are simply keeping him out of Serbian politics and it just goes to prove the NATO court is political. Even if they find him guilty, it will be time served.

Long may it irritate you.

Yes, long may it irritate me. At $300 million a year, paid mostly by NATO countries, I can handle the irritant for much longer.

Here is seselj at his "best," compliments of Balkans Insight/ youtube. the best and brightest of serbia?! watch it and weep. and this is just one tiny fraction of his portfolio...
