To live in peace with our neigbours. No thanks! Serbs should live with Serbs. Serbs have been the most tollerant ones and what did we get in return. All of our neighbours has stolen a piece of our land. Albanians who are not even from Europe are trying to steal our holy land of Kosovo. They are burning our monasteriesn, dececrating our graveyards and killing our people. Croats were granted Krajina by Tito and the bosnian muslims the same in Bosnia. Still today there are more minorities in Serbia then in any other balkan country. We are still the suckers. Serbia for the Serbs!

If any Serbs have even the slightest inclination that it will be all milk and honey once in the EU, then you’re in for a very rude shock as the money has run out and your lives will show no change except your masters will be in Brussels not Belgrade. On an even more interesting note here is the latest on the world economy. North America is a basket case and the EU is not too far behind – we are on the verge of another economic crises (GFC2) that could force some countries to collapse. If the US can be described as a whale in the ocean; 15 years ago it swimming free in the wide ocean; 7 years ago it was dangerously near the shallow end and today it’s beached and all that being done is volunteers are pouring water over it to keep it alive.

Well this medal have two sides. One is that both Serbs and their neighbors are pretty tired of the long lasting tense and balancing at the edge of a new war. So the problem is the other side of the matter i.e. the price the Balkanes are ready to pay for the peace they dream of.

I personally believe that there are no chances for a drastic improvement in the years to come. All the countries of the region are still formulating their national ideas and identity. And Serbia is the best irritator one can imagine. Yet in the long term war none of them is able to withstand Serbia. Especially if Russia rearms it. Putin plans to rearm the Russian Army for USD 700 Bln. so Serbia may expect pretty cheap and still good armaments.

Besides everybody knows too well that the peace here has been reached mostly at the price of the surrounded and oppressed Serbia. The world was too cruel and unjust towards Serbs. So no matter what they say or do none of the neighbours will trust Serbia this decade. Same with the NATO members worried for the bombings to remain formally 'legal' before the polititians die.

So I can see no chances for better relations. The existing basis for the co-existance deprived Serbs not only some of their traditional lands in Montenegro , Kosovo , Croatia and BH but it deprived them of the rights Albanians , Montenegrins , Bosniaks and Croats do have. So after Nikolic comes all those questions will be raised again. Anyway peace here still costs too much for the Balkanes to afford it.
