Its not expulsion if you are warned of an impending attack and given time to evacuate. I dont remember serbs warning croats in vukovar, dubrovnik, and the rest of croatia of an impending attack.

Well Mario, it was Mesic the Croat who himself said that Tudjman was very well aware that war crimes were committed against Serbs during Operation Storm.
The Croatian war of liberation of the homeland was not sucha clean war.
The verdict has made that quite clear. The current Croatian government provided proof to the Hague that beyond doubt shows that Tudjman was part of a criminal enterprise (as the court calls it) to expel Serbs from Croatia.

Milosevic was "NOT" legal President of Yugoslavia! Mesic the Croat was legal President of Yugoslavia! ''Taken further, Ghaddafi's Libya has NO right!!! Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves. Nothing wrong with Croatia and that Croats are not in the Yugoslavija but it is "nice" to listen to you moral paupers threatening tones. Shame on you! Croats can live nice in Croatia with no community to which you belong to.

What was Milosevic's army doing in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia?
(ivan, 23 April 2011 17:32)

If you follow this guy's logic, then Milosevic was fighting illegal succession in violation of the Yugoslav constitution, a sovereign and internationally recognized state. Btw, it wasn't Milosevic army, it was the army of the SFRJ that intervened.
The JNA tried to keep Yugoslavia together. Serbia never invaded Croatia nor Bosnia.

Anyway, according to this guy's logic, what Gadaffi is doing is also legitimate.
Except when it comes to Kosovo once of a sudden there is a different standard. So why was it legitimate for Croatia to conduct operation storm and expel 200,000 Serbs from Croatia but when Serbia fights an insurgency it is not legitimate?
I am not advocating any form of expulsion, I just notice the different standards.
Why is everyone in the Balkans entitled to self-determination except for Serbs, either in Croatia, Bosnia or Kosovo. Why?

''Taken further, Ghaddafi's Libya has every right then to defend it's state against these rebels too. ''

By hiring foreign soldiers and mercenaries to kill around?

Anyway, personally i consider serbs and slovaks, croats etc as same thing, the more they fight against each other the better for us, but gotta admire croats, they truly know how to protect their own country, Albanian soldiers in JNA did the right choise by joining the croats, and we are thankful to Croatia for supporting our cause so strongly. Croats are the only slavs Albanians can get on well with.

This man, Bramowitz should be shamed of himself. How could Croatia be occupied by people who lived there for centuries who tried organize and prevent another genocide of WW2 done by Croats to Serbs, Jews and Gypsies. As for Slovenia, he is forgetting that it was Yugoslav army. As usual, he and those like him are chosing the truth as it suits them in order to blame Serbs for everything. What is bad done by Serbs is good if it is done by others in Balcan. If it wasn't so tragic, it would be comical.

Mario, would you kindly stop harassing us with your factually incorrect propaganda?

It was not hunting rifles in the beginning. The Croats and Bosniaks started arming themselves well before the war started.
You spew lies of the Serbs starting ethnic cleansing. Everyone knows that the croats started, in Western Slavonia. So you are telling lies because you are an unformed ignorant person, or because you want to cause trouble here. Whichever it is, please refrain from your garbage posts.
Lastly, the Serbs did not occupy the Serb republic of Croatia. They lived there. It is their ancestral homeland.

So, please seek a mental evaluation. Have a good day, and just let us know if you need a referral to a mental specialist.

mario

pre 13 godina

You claim those were two warring sides in a civil war. It is irrelevant to you war on Slovenia. With Slovenia independent the movement turned to Croatia and Bosnia.

"It became difficult to justify my role as a journalist. I had photographed the first ethnic cleansing of the Bosnian war. Innocent civilians executed by well-armed paramilitary forces. The pictures were published and there was no reaction from the politicians. When the world finally reacted, the results seemed almost comic. Troops, in some examples, were sent not to stop the fighting, but to give food to those under siege--an admirable intent; yet all they had consequently rendered was an act similar to that of fattening the cows for slaughter."

It is irrelevant to you in the beginning it was a hunting rifle against machine guns and tanks. Serious warfare ensued. Planes began to attack small villages, and tanks lay siege to towns for months. The practice of ethnic cleansing was started by Serb/Yugoslav Army. As the war progressed and spread into Bosnia, the level of violence increased. The stakes became higher for those involved.

It is irrelevant to you the Serbs of formerly occupied Croatia leaving in vehicles, tractors, cars, buses and Mercedes, able to take a significant portion of their belongings. Muslims and Croats have had to leave everything and start on foot into the uncertain, very often across mine fields and through front lines, and most frequently after having been humiliated, raped, tortured and beaten.

Then the actions to liberate Kosovo was also legitmate based on the assumptions of this moron. Why is it that Serb troops and Yugoslav troops loyal to a UN recognized state called Yugoslavia were not legitimate in their claims to defend Yugoslavia from terrorists and Nazi fuel Croats OR KLA terrorist in Kosovo? Hmmm.

Taken further, Ghaddafi's Libya has every right then to defend it's state against these rebels too. With the introduction of McCain and his lunny tunes foreign policy outlook is outrageous to put if mildly since foreign troops have boots on the ground, invading LIbyan soil.

This logic is so full of holes it makes the therory that the moon is made of Swiss Cheese a reality. Can we all agree, that when it comes to the Balkans, foreign powers have screwed us ALL. I say, give the Serbs, Croats, and albanians independence from each other....divide the freeking land once and for all, in good faith, and move on. How long have we been blasting each other to no avail? Do we want to end up in another war killing each other again as we fall into the void, as there is no Life in the void...only death. It's Easter...let's us forgive as Christ has forgiven us for our sins. I truly am ready to see peace for all our people. If the idiot politicans can find a way...put ordinary people in a room and let us figure it out...I'm confident we can...as both sides will have to compromise to find a solution....but it can be done.

Serbia has done more then enough to confront it's past. Serbia has cooperated with the war crimes tribunal, Serbia has formally apologized in diplomatic circles, countless tv and radio documentaries have been produced and shown in Serbia, several international conferences focussing on facing up to the past have been organized by Serbian officials and Serbian TV has shown live broadcasts of the war crim tribunals. No, Serbia and the Serbian people have started and continue to confront their past and have even "bent over" for the West. Croatia is used to "bending over" for the West but now it's time to confront her past too!

Has Serbia and Serbia's leader confronted its dark past?
Gangster or patriot? Arkan would never have appeared at the Tribunal in the Hague. There simply is not the political will to make that happen. The fact that some Serbs view Arkan as a hero is similar to having Nazis claim that Hitler was a hero. Simply proves the fact that there are many blood-thirsty elements in THE WORLD.

"Arkan" arrived with his uniformed militia in the east Bosnian town of Bijeljina to begin a campaign that came to be known as "ethnic cleansing."
Bijeljina "The town was practically undefended, and his forces set up roadblocks, arrested civilians, and went house to house seizing others. One witness saw three people get their throats slit at a checkpoint. Another saw a woman shot as she was eating burek, a cheese pastry. When Arkan was done, twenty thousand Muslims had either fled, been transported to camps, or were slaughtered. Ron Haviv journalists "They dragged the husband out of the house first, across the street from the mosque. The local butcher. The soldiers were telling me not to take photographs. Then the wife was dragged out. She was screaming - shots rang out and the husband went down. The wife reached down and took his hand in hers, then they shot her, and she went down. Then they dragged out the sister-in-law. I walked back towards some other soldiers who had just taken a kid on the lawn of the mosque. He broke free and tried to escape but couldn't - there was a wall. They shot him in the back. Over the road, they shot the butcher's sister-in-law before the order came to move to another part of town."
On May 27, 1997 Chartier sent the following response to Arkan's spokesman and legal representative:
"Dear Sir, As a reply to your phone inquiry and to the fax you sent us earlier today, and as a follow-up to our phone conversation, I inform you in writing, as requested, that the Arkan is not on the list of the persons indicted to-date by the ICTY. This list is a public document and I attach to this fax a copy of it. Sincerely yours, Christian Chartier."
Has Serbia and Serbia's leader confronted its dark past?
"15,000 Croatians killed and forcibly displaced, "cleansed," some 220,000 Croats from about one-third of Croatian territory. More than 15,000 Croats were murdered in areas occupied by Serbs, and more than 4000 are still missing. Croatia has extradited or mediated in the extradition of 35 Croatian citizens to the ICTY, and has fulfilled all other requests (720 in all) put to it by the tribunal."

Brammertz noted that the operation was carried out in the Croatian territory which had for several years been "under occupation by local Serbs"

Interesting idea: 'Local' Serbs, i.e. the people who were living and having their homes there (some of them, for centuries), 'occupy' a territory.

Why?

Well Mario, it was Mesic the Croat who himself said that Tudjman was very well aware that war crimes were committed against Serbs during Operation Storm.
The Croatian war of liberation of the homeland was not sucha clean war.
The verdict has made that quite clear. The current Croatian government provided proof to the Hague that beyond doubt shows that Tudjman was part of a criminal enterprise (as the court calls it) to expel Serbs from Croatia.
