I think you misunderstood. I was meaning something the Albanians constructed and not the Romans or Illyrians. Also, there is absolutely nothing in Kosovo apart from historical Serbian constructions (which the local Albanians mostly destroyed).

I honestly think, if I have read well history about the Balkans, and what happened during WW2, that the Patriarch is telling the TRUTH. I remember what happened in Kosovo prior to 1989, and Milosevic's declaration that the violence against the Serbs had to be stopped. I also remember what happened in Jasenovac, this infamous camp calle also Auschwitz of the balkans, where 1000s and 1000s of Serbs perished every day. I AGREE with the Patriarch.

I didn't know a shepherd from New Zealand has just turned historian and legal expert!

I would not like to debate with people who's emotions run high when truth get revealed. Some of you seem to have read only Serbian books. An old Latin proverb says : "I am frightened from man, who read one book".

In my old days we haven't used to have internet, and were spending months reading various literature. Today just try to google around and you will soon have 1000s of books of the 17th,18th and 19th century FREE to read.

Please read a few of them and come out tomorrow refreshed with a enlightened history. As International Historian I dont blame you, but those who made you read false history. The culprits are your historians and this is why Serbs proved not only during the 1990s but even in early 1900s to be a destructive player for the whole region.

The albanians have lived much worse under former serbian occupation. We had no rights at all during the 90's reamember?

In Kosovo today the serbs choose to live in ghettos as you mentioned it by not using their rights gifted by the constitution of Kosovo. I dont see the vice PM of Kosovo Slobodan Petrovic having problems with using his rights, language or travel trough Kosovo for example. Or Rada Tajkovic wich even points up three fingers when she votes in the Kosovo Parlament and undermines Kosovo as a state.


And stop using the burned churches wich occured for many years ago. Nothing compared to the burned albanian houses and massacred albanian civilians by serb paramilitary forces wich also occured for many years ago. Since Kosovo have been independent churches have been resorated and secured and you cannot find an single one wich is in danger. Serbs in Strpce,Partesh and Gracanica have no problems on using their rights and live secured in their homes. Why shoulden't they? They have a serb major, serb KP and their offical laungage in their region is serbian. They have all they need to get an better lives in Kosovo.



I dont think the serbs are in great danger in Kosovo now when Kosovo has an modern constitution wich offers minoritys greatest rights and when Kosovo is on its road to Eu. Serbs in Kosovo have the right to choose how to live in Kosovo as long as they dont threat the integrity or sovregnity of Kosovo. I am albanian orthodox myself and I am not surprised to see "holy" man from Serbia and Greece,to bless killers and butchers.We have our experience from 1912 till now,where greeks have killed more orthodox albanians than turks.Why?Because our grandfathers were orthodox,and their fault was that didn't understand a word in greek and refuse to call themselves greek.My grand father village were burn in 1915 and all man who happended to be in village that day were killed by greeks with the blessing of the greek church.Hundreed of albanian teachers(mostly orthodox) were poisened or beheaded by greek church before 1912.
It was this "holy" serbian church the one who blessed killing and raping houndered of thosands of slovenians,croatians,bosnians and albanians.
This "holy" man must be the last one to speak for humanity because his community with his blessing have done mass killings and raping young girls.

You are absolutely right. It's funny though how he never mention Srebrenica and what Serbs did there. By the way he should deal with Artemije and church business instead of doing what SPC did during Milosevic regime.

But what he fails to mention/ realise is that the Kosovo-Serbs are putting themselves into self isolation. The Kosovo-Serbs would have a much better standard of life if they integrated more into Kosovo's institutions. I'm not saying that Pristina is doing it's best to improve the well-being of the Kosovo-Serbs because there is fault there too. Pristina needs to reform it's plan for the North to improve the quality of life for Kosovo-Serbs however their job would be a lot easier if the Kosovo-Serbs were willing to work with them. This self isolation isn't helping them, Serbian politicians are able to politically capitalise from the condition of the Kosovo-Serbs; they can use the condition of the Kosovo-Serbs to fuel their anti-Kosovo campaign at the expense of the Kosovo-Serbs and that is immoral because they bring it upon themselves through self-isolation. This is what needs to be addressed when looking at the well-being of Kosovo-Serbs.

You might be right, in theory. But in reality, it's the totally opposite. You know: Paper doesn't blush.

Tadic says that one side should not get it all while the other doesn't get anything. So the Serbs in Kosovo are getting just a little bit of suffering,still it is nothing compared to ten thousand victims and expulsion of 90% of Albanian population by the serbs.I agree with Tadic we Albanians should do more to get some equality in what you Serbs have done tu us.

It is true that many international experts were involved in forming the Kosovo constitution in order to create a system fair for all.
But I guess to determine if a constitution is meaningless one has to look at it in action.
1. Can it be changed in an afternoon parliament session or does it take many challenges and time to alter its framework? Serbia changed its constitution in 2007 to contain that Kosovo is an inalienable part of Serbia in a one meeting session of parliament.
2. If the Constitutional Court (Supreme Court of what ever you call your highest court) rules that an act is in violation of the constitution then does the govt adhere to the ruling. Serbia chose to ignore the ruling on supplimental salaries for Kosovo Serbs.

Maybe if Serbia got some professional input on constituions they could have one that meant something!

New Zealander maybe you could show some distinction between the Serbian "ghettos" of Kosovo and the living standards of the average Albanian.
Even the UN reports say that freedom of movement is a non issue in Kosovo with the exception of Albanians in the Serb dominated north.

Ivan, mark, joe and Ian! Classical albanian names or albanians hiding behind western and serbo/croat names? Ridiculous and pathetic! Those names are as albanian as much as Kosovo is.

The wars in former yugoslavia ended in the 90s and still albanians bring up crimes comitted then to justify the crimes comitted against serbs today. Albanian neanderthal way of thinking and behaving is keeping them where they are today, which is no where. No white schengen, corruption, human trafficing, drug smugling etc.
Kosovo is divided and will remain that way. Get used to it and move on. Should albanians start a war they will be sent back to Caucasus once and for all.

Our minorities enjoy double representation, dual citizenship, etc. Last time I checked Kosovar minority enjoy 20 of the 120 seats in the Kosovan Assembly. The Serbian language of a 4.9% minority is the official language in all government documents (Passport, I.D., birth certificates, etc).

How more democratic can you get? As a contrast look at Slovakia, where the Hungarian minority is 10% of the total population but the use of their language is restricted since January by a special language law.

First, you need to learn the rules of a debate. When you engage in a debate with someone else you should not tell the other side why are they engaging in a debate with you? I don't care to discuss things with you, nor do I make money on it, but I think that there is an implied contract among civilized people to exchange ideas and debate issues, no matter in which site. You speak of open societies and progress as if you have invented them. You should not forget that Serbia got the free visa regime only a year or so ago, and Kosovo is still hunted by it's status issue, and internal ethnic conflicts which your beloved Serbia took great care in building for 100 years. naturally it will suffer from these conditions. Further Thaci is today in power as a war-time leader of anti-Serbian struggle, not as a capable peace time professionist. So are many others. Thus you can't say Serbia has nothing to do with it. But Kosovo is fighting and trying and not giving up despite the hate and spitfulness you and your kind reflect upon them.

You should not forget that 10 years ago it was you who were being led by a bunch of terrorists, and mass murderers many of whom in contrast to K-Alb leaders today, were convicted in the court of law as such.

When Serbs want to travel from one of their enclaves to somewhere else, it can happen that their cars or buses are stoned. When returnees want to come back to their property, it can happen that someone is shooting at them. When Serbs visit the graveyards of their relatives, they often find the graves destroyed or vandalized. What does KPS do? Not much more than to blame 'playing kids' for the accidents. It's likely that KPS even know about the culprits and protect them because they belong to the same clan as some police officer (former KLA fighter). That's what I mean - everyday life, not the fine constituition and theory. Got it?

Yes, Serbia was bombed and remained under sanctions for a long time, we were put back 10 or 20 years but that hasn't stopped us. We still produce world class sports men and women, we continue to attract major business interests, we can travel the world freely, the people are educated and the list goes on.

Now your "Kosova" resembles a prison camp more than anything else and you have had freedom for over a decade. The mafia and terrorists still runs the place, you can practically travel nowhere, you produce practically nothing except narcotics and other criminal activities. Your protectors even call you a corrupt and mafia society.

Time to stop your obsession with Serbia and to do something good for yourselves. K-Albanians can be independent from Serbia, which is fine as we have provided self-rule but "Kosova" will never become independent. Albanians were also able to have great and distinguished figures in art, sports etc when they had a little peace in their life. Many great sportist, dancers, singers, actors etc of ex-Yugo were of Albanian decent, oh that is oh so easy to forget isn't it.

First things first, learn your maths, 800,000 of 1.9 Million Albanians is not 90%, 2nd, the vast majority were running from the bombing, Operation Horseshoe has already been proven not to exist, and its not a coincidence that the number of External Refugees rose from zero to 800,000 in the first few days of bombing, and that some 200,000 of Kosovo's other minorities (namely Serbs) fled too. Note also that many Albanian refugees fled to Central Serbia. Of course some paramilitaries committed ethnic cleansing, but on the scale as described, is ridculous. Our minorities enjoy double representation, dual citizenship, etc. Last time I checked Kosovar minority enjoy 20 of the 120 seats in the Kosovan Assembly. The Serbian language of a 4.9% minority is the official language in all government documents (Passport, I.D., birth certificates, etc).

I would love to sit here and prove you wrong again and again but I have better things to do.

In my old days we haven't used to have internet, and were spending months reading various literature. Today just try to google around and you will soon have 1000s of books of the 17th,18th and 19th century FREE to read.

Please read a few of them and come out tomorrow refreshed with a enlightened history. As International Historian I dont blame you, but those who made you read false history. The culprits are your historians and this is why Serbs proved not only during the 1990s but even in early 1900s to be a destructive player for the whole region.

In Kosovo today the serbs choose to live in ghettos as you mentioned it by not using their rights gifted by the constitution of Kosovo. I dont see the vice PM of Kosovo Slobodan Petrovic having problems with using his rights, language or travel trough Kosovo for example. Or Rada Tajkovic wich even points up three fingers when she votes in the Kosovo Parlament and undermines Kosovo as a state.


And stop using the burned churches wich occured for many years ago. Nothing compared to the burned albanian houses and massacred albanian civilians by serb paramilitary forces wich also occured for many years ago. Since Kosovo have been independent churches have been resorated and secured and you cannot find an single one wich is in danger. Serbs in Strpce,Partesh and Gracanica have no problems on using their rights and live secured in their homes. Why shoulden't they? They have a serb major, serb KP and their offical laungage in their region is serbian. They have all they need to get an better lives in Kosovo.

Your ramblings must be of some ancient Ilyrian code from 10,000 years ago. I would recommend that you take some extra curricular course at local University of Prishtina.

But what he fails to mention/ realise is that the Kosovo-Serbs are putting themselves into self isolation. The Kosovo-Serbs would have a much better standard of life if they integrated more into Kosovo's institutions. I'm not saying that Pristina is doing it's best to improve the well-being of the Kosovo-Serbs because there is fault there too. Pristina needs to reform it's plan for the North to improve the quality of life for Kosovo-Serbs however their job would be a lot easier if the Kosovo-Serbs were willing to work with them. This self isolation isn't helping them, Serbian politicians are able to politically capitalise from the condition of the Kosovo-Serbs; they can use the condition of the Kosovo-Serbs to fuel their anti-Kosovo campaign at the expense of the Kosovo-Serbs and that is immoral because they bring it upon themselves through self-isolation. This is what needs to be addressed when looking at the well-being of Kosovo-Serbs.

It is time to turn a new page and get out of this self-isolation. Time to live with all the people surrounding you and to make peace. I can see by the many posts here that when it comes to K-Albanians, there is a common theme that continually comes up. And that theme is "isolation". Albanians get a bit of power and isolation follows. They force it upon themselves and force it upon others. How sad.

1. The Kosovo consitution is meaningless, firstly, theres no point in making laws if your not going to enforce them, and secondly, Anyone can write a consitution, however, unless it is one of a legitimate state, it counts for nothing.

I would not like to debate with people who's emotions run high when truth get revealed. Some of you seem to have read only Serbian books. An old Latin proverb says : "I am frightened from man, who read one book".

In my old days we haven't used to have internet, and were spending months reading various literature. Today just try to google around and you will soon have 1000s of books of the 17th,18th and 19th century FREE to read.

Please read a few of them and come out tomorrow refreshed with a enlightened history. As International Historian I dont blame you, but those who made you read false history. The culprits are your historians and this is why Serbs proved not only during the 1990s but even in early 1900s to be a destructive player for the whole region.

I am albanian orthodox myself and I am not surprised to see "holy" man from Serbia and Greece,to bless killers and butchers.We have our experience from 1912 till now,where greeks have killed more orthodox albanians than turks.Why?Because our grandfathers were orthodox,and their fault was that didn't understand a word in greek and refuse to call themselves greek.My grand father village were burn in 1915 and all man who happended to be in village that day were killed by greeks with the blessing of the greek church.Hundreed of albanian teachers(mostly orthodox) were poisened or beheaded by greek church before 1912.

It is true that many international experts were involved in forming the Kosovo constitution in order to create a system fair for all.
But I guess to determine if a constitution is meaningless one has to look at it in action.
1. Can it be changed in an afternoon parliament session or does it take many challenges and time to alter its framework? Serbia changed its constitution in 2007 to contain that Kosovo is an inalienable part of Serbia in a one meeting session of parliament.
2. If the Constitutional Court (Supreme Court of what ever you call your highest court) rules that an act is in violation of the constitution then does the govt adhere to the ruling. Serbia chose to ignore the ruling on supplimental salaries for Kosovo Serbs.

Maybe if Serbia got some professional input on constituions they could have one that meant something!

New Zealander maybe you could show some distinction between the Serbian "ghettos" of Kosovo and the living standards of the average Albanian.
Even the UN reports say that freedom of movement is a non issue in Kosovo with the exception of Albanians in the Serb dominated north.

The Serbian language of a 4.9% minority is the official language in all government documents (Passport, I.D., birth certificates, etc).

Somehow Denis I don't think it is Serbians living in a world of tales and dreams. The K-Albanians are the ones isolated and they are the ones isolating Serbians in the province, now that is a fact. Yes, Serbia was bombed and remained under sanctions for a long time, we were put back 10 or 20 years but that hasn't stopped us. We still produce world class sports men and women, we continue to attract major business interests, we can travel the world freely, the people are educated and the list goes on.

Now your "Kosova" resembles a prison camp more than anything else and you have had freedom for over a decade. The mafia and terrorists still runs the place, you can practically travel nowhere, you produce practically nothing except narcotics and other criminal activities. Your protectors even call you a corrupt and mafia society.

Time to stop your obsession with Serbia and to do something good for yourselves. As I said, in theory, you are right! The west provided a lot of minority rights when they 'helped' to design the Kosovo constituion. But in daily life? When Serbs want to travel from one of their enclaves to somewhere else, it can happen that their cars or buses are stoned. When returnees want to come back to their property, it can happen that someone is shooting at them. When Serbs visit the graveyards of their relatives, they often find the graves destroyed or vandalized. What does KPS do? Not much more than to blame 'playing kids' for the accidents. It's likely that KPS even know about the culprits and protect them because they belong to the same clan as some police officer (former KLA fighter). That's what I mean - everyday life, not the fine constituition and theory. Got it?

First, you need to learn the rules of a debate. When you engage in a debate with someone else you should not tell the other side why are they engaging in a debate with you? I don't care to discuss things with you, nor do I make money on it, but I think that there is an implied contract among civilized people to exchange ideas and debate issues, no matter in which site. You speak of open societies and progress as if you have invented them. First things first, learn your maths, 800,000 of 1.9 Million Albanians is not 90%, 2nd, the vast majority were running from the bombing, Operation Horseshoe has already been proven not to exist, and its not a coincidence that the number of External Refugees rose from zero to 800,000 in the first few days of bombing, and that some 200,000 of Kosovo's other minorities (namely Serbs) fled too. Note also that many Albanian refugees fled to Central Serbia. Of course some paramilitaries committed ethnic cleansing, but on the scale as described, is ridculous. We're seeing it again in Libya now, where there was a huge refugee outflow as soon as the bombing began, note also that of the 10,000 victims, that includes Combatants from both sides, and Serbs killed, which (When you add both the victims of the bombing and the KLA) outnumbers the 2500 or so Albanians killed by Serb forces, by war's standards, is considerably low.

Geez what has the world come up to? look who is talking about ISOLATION, a Serb. Yeah Serbia is very open in fact, that's why you got bombed, and you got a blocade for almost a decade Further fact that the church in Serbia interfers in political matters is a sign of open and a modern civilized society. As I said, in theory, you are right! The west provided a lot of minority rights when they 'helped' to design the Kosovo constituion. But in daily life? When Serbs want to travel from one of their enclaves to somewhere else, it can happen that their cars or buses are stoned. When returnees want to come back to their property, it can happen that someone is shooting at them. When Serbs visit the graveyards of their relatives, they often find the graves destroyed or vandalized. What does KPS do? Not much more than to blame 'playing kids' for the accidents. It's likely that KPS even know about the culprits and protect them because they belong to the same clan as some police officer (former KLA fighter). That's what I mean - everyday life, not the fine constituition and theory. Got it?

Come to Kosovo and see it yourself, before writing such nonsense. The freedom of movement is not issue any more. I travel daily to Prishtina and I see a lot of cars and trucks with Belgrade registration plates. Nobody gets stoned. It is not 1999 any more.

I think you misunderstood. I was meaning something the Albanians constructed and not the Romans or Illyrians. Also, there is absolutely nothing in Kosovo apart from historical Serbian constructions (which the local Albanians mostly destroyed).

Albanians were also able to have great and distinguished figures in art, sports etc when they had a little peace in their life. Many great sportist, dancers, singers, actors etc of ex-Yugo were of Albanian decent, oh that is oh so easy to forget isn't it.

Albanians were also able to have great and distinguished figures in art, sports etc when they had a little peace in their life. Many great sportist, dancers, singers, actors etc of ex-Yugo were of Albanian decent, oh that is oh so easy to forget isn't it.

Interestingly the Yugoslav army was virtually immune to the Nato bombardment, and since, has modernised and now has far more firepower then before.

1. The Kosovo consitution is meaningless, firstly, theres no point in making laws if your not going to enforce them, and secondly, Anyone can write a consitution, however, unless it is one of a legitimate state, it counts for nothing.

Anyone can write a constitution which has a legal basis. Kosovo’s Constitution has as legal basis Kosovo’s Declaration of Independence.

Also you get the order of things wrong. It’s not that you first have a legitimate state to then have a Constitution. It is the constitution that establishes a state. Without a constitution, the thing is nothing more than a jungle, let alone a state.



2. Kosovo should never have belonged to Serbia? Why not? No one Else was living there, Rewriting History and Renaming places does not make it Albanian.

3. Albanians have more then 4000 Years of History in the Balkans? Find me one source mentioning them in the Balkans thats older then 900 years. You Cant. Its common knowledge in the real world that the Albanians arrived in the Balkans around 1100AD from the Caucases.

Why don't you go on "New Kosova Report" and dish the same "advice" to them? Tell them to stop writing in English and stick to Albanian only as it's only fair.
Then while you are at it tell CNN, BBC and the rest (too numerous to mention) to stop with propaganda and start reporting the truth from now on. All those embedded journalists need to get some dignity and start investigating instead of spewing government approved rubbish. Maybe you should tell them that.
