Marko, maybe among your friends the support is 5-10 percent as you say. But, a big percent of serbia's population is brainwashed into supporting them. That is an important thing to realize, in order for us to know what we are up against.

Current government has no support in the public, ratings are below 5-10%. Serbian society feels that they are being run by an estranged government that is borrowing and selling assets as there is no tomorrow — just to stay few more months on power. There a very slim chance that ruling party will manage to even enter the parliament in the next elections, that is why they are doing whatever they can to stay there for few more months and get hefty percentage of pending sale of state companies.

Milos, they voted for the government. If they didn't go to the elections, then that's their problem. I don't like the government! I don't! but jee, they won the election, which makes me sad. But hey, our time will come.

Not true...The entire nation is being held hostage by the Government. Trivan does not inform us that 2.000.000 live on 150 euros a month or less; average paycheck is 100 euros down from 2008.; widespread corruption in police, courts, hospitals, local administration where there are HUGE MISMANAGEMENTS OF EU FUNDS; there are reasons to hold early elections because people are FED UP with the same old lies presented day by day by Trivan...NO ONE CARES about the miserable lives of the PEOPLE IN SERBIA, they care only about REPEATING the same mantra...THE GOVERNMENT NOW is the threat to the people...SNS will prove peaceful rallies lead to SOLUTIONS

It is up to the government to call early elections, nobody else. If this government is being pressured by the EU because it has made a deal with Nikolic then that just goes to show how independent Serbia really is. That is the type of pressure we can expect in the future if Serbia hands over our sovereignty to Brussels.

I do not support the DS, but I think there is some logic to the deadlines. If they have majority in parliament then how under democratic processes can we force them to declare elections earlier if they do not want to? They won the last elections thanks to the minorities (yeah, almost all of the almost 20% minority population voted for DS and their coalition members) ... so since the official results say they won, too bad, they have the benefit to call elections when they want - and so too they have the right to last their full term as long as they have majority in parliament. I don't like them one bit, but there's nothing we can do about the situation.
