LOL!

Russia is hardline communist? Even China is hardline communist??

And organ harvesting muslim albanians have more in common with Europe than Serbs do? What does the EU have to do with Europe anyway? Serbia is IN Europe. So this nonsense of "creating a European Serbia" makes no sense.

P.S. go to Switzerland, France, Austria or U.K...the biggest insult somebody can throw at you there is to call you a Kosovar. That is by far the worst thing you can say to a person.

I'm from Kosovo..but somehow I have a feeling they wern't talking about us.

Nema Predaje.

As happy as I am in hearing the people of Serbia don't want to join the eeyeow, these albo posters make me laugh. If Serbia is not in the eeyeow, kosovo will never get into the eeyeow. Neither will albania. What these blockheads don't realize is that the us does not control the eeyeow. They never get it straight in their heads.

The Truth Chicago!

Serbia is the host of many world events.

Albania is the host of drug trafficking.

Serbia has many known athletes around the world.

Albania has many criminals that get caught around the world.

Serbia has many famous scientists.

Albania has many famous criminals that have scientifically removed organs of non-Albanians.

Yes, you are correct in saying that Serbia has nothing in common with Europe.

Clearly, Albania has more in common with europeans than Serbians.

'National consensus' or 'Notional consensus'? Pull the other one. The EU bends its 'rule of law' to the point that it represents a pretzel* when it is in its interests, hence the re-votes in Ireland et al. until they did support the Lisbon agreement. The MEPs shafted their assistants by paying them a pittance for a long time, signed in to Strasbourg for their 7,000 euros an then do not attend, vote themselves a pay rise when all around Europe people are loosing their jobs. The Commission regularly gives in to pressure by the Council of Ministers over unofficial conditions on third countries that are in the process of joining the EU and they all turn a blind eye to such states blatantly failing to fulfill fundamental aspects of the european law required to join the EU (the obvious examples being Bg & Ro). They've also all refused to put in place a proper system of oversite for the lobbyists.

Basically the EU is corrupt, but the 'right kind' of corrupt. The problem is that the riff-raff want to join the golf club which once they are in (normally sponsored by a friendly couple of members), they can continue to behave badly or just drag out for as long as possible the legally required reforms. It is a joke and it is on everybody, Talk talk & pork pork all around then.

I'm sure in Brussel's spirit of non-interference, the powerful member states will send their 'representatives' to Belgrade that in no way show preference to any particular set of parties, just like they didn't before Serbia's last elections... Clearly the peasants cannot be trusted.

Regardless of whether we get in or not, it's via the S.Stream transit fees that we will control the EU anyway with Russia's full backing and it's that same Russia that'll get us in regardless of public opinion.

We will have control over the EU?? Of course Russia wants Serbia in the EU. It's Russia's foot in the back door.

I for once agree with all Serbian posters. KEEP SERBIA OUT OF THE EU! No European integration. Serbia's values and morals are more in line with China and Russia and most hardline communist countries. Serbia has nothing in common with Europe other than the fact that their war criminals get sent to the Hague to face the music.

SERBIA JE RUSSIA!

I think many people in Serbia see the weak economy, inflation and loss of jobs, as a cost of joining the EU and not as an effect of the downturn in the global economy. Tadic, his government and the EU need to ensure the people here that the domestic economy will not suffer by increasing the value of the dinar, and creating more work for the middle and lower classes.

The EU created anti-EU feeling by repeated stalling and back-tracking bc they owe us reperation money, so we'll get paid back whether we're a member or not.

candidate status was a turning point followed by an even more important one - the start of the accession negotiations. Serbia's path to the EU will be irreversible after that, he noted.
--
That would be tragic I'm afraid. We are handing over our sovereignty without a referendum while less than 50% of the population support it? That in my books is called treachery. Serbia's EU progress needs to be halted while the DS and other sell-outs thrown out of government. Fingers crossed, that time is near.
