So that would be after Hell freezes over but certainly before Kosovo joins they EU or becomes a UN member and Albania gets a government.

Easily before Belgium gets a government though...

He could of course be challenging Brussels considering the waffle about candidate status from Brussels mouthpiece Degert and the other Euroleaders (neither here nor there). It seems to me that he is explicitly linking the continuation of his pro-EU regime with concessions from Brussels and the alternative that if Brussels chooses plays hardball instead, then the next government in Belgrade will be even less likely to cooperate with Brussels. Where would that leave the Balkan Stability Pact apart from in a small wooden shed at the bottom of the garden below a couple of slippery planks???

Anyone following the votes for cash in the European Parliament? Romanian MEP Severin has gone down. Apparently this is the wrong kind of corruption but let us not either mention MEPs yet again voting themselves a pay rise. Rule of law my backside!

"Serbian President and Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadić has stated that it would be best to hold elections after Serbia gets the EU candidate status."

Does this mean that we don't have to expect any elections for the next decades?

On 20th Congress of Soviet Union Communist Party, comrades managed to come up with the date when USSR will change from socialist to communist system. I think it was 2032.
This, of course, had no alternative, according to them.

But, everything, always, have alternative...

Then again...it would be good to join so that I can stop fearing tsunami...

One of the criteria is to have good neighbourly relation with your neighbours and control of your own borders to get candidate status for EU. You also have to recognize your neighbouring countrys before you enter.

Feel the reality and move forward. EU has no alternative.
