Telekom "won't go for under EUR 1.4bn"

Serbia bought a share in Srpska’s Telekom for 846 million a good investment all around what a joke. Now Serbia is selling a majority share in its telekom for a grand profit of negative returns only in Serbia. I know Serbia is hard up in supporting its imaginary friend "Srpska" it gets very expensive until it bankrupts Serbia then truth and reality sets in its all for the best.

So, we sold Karic's former mobile company for 1.5 billion euros in 2006. This company had a profit much lower then the state companies, was essentially only involved in mobiel telephony (unlike Telekom Srbija) and we sold it in an economic boom time.

Now, our genius government wants to sell this company whose profit in a recession exceeds that of Telenor Srbija during any fiscal year for less.

Was it just me or weren't we told how this government is a government of economic geniuses in 2008 and how without Kostunica theywill create an economic boom and decrease corruption.

In terms of sales and assets, Telekom Srbija has some 4 times the assets and sales of Telenor.

Another reason that shows how grotesque this valuation is the fact that Austrian Telekom paid 320 million to acquire the third mobile licence. A licence that only holds 10% of the mobile telephony market. Now they want to pay such a low price to be the dominant firm.

I want to know who came up wih the conclusion that Telekom Srbija is worth only 1.4 billion euros. I think they should be banned from public life and stripped of their citizenship -- this is sch a attempt at theft from the Serbian people that it is treasonous.

It’s really sad that someone like Lenard has to bring up the fact that Telekom Srpske was bought for 646 million (not 800 mil, Lenard) euros outbidding Telekom Austria ironically by 200 million euros. Now that same company has the chance to pick up everything for peanuts... even if they raised their bid to the 1.4 billion "minimum price”. The rest of Lenard’s post however is utter garbage.

If that's treasonous then what would you call accepting EUR 400 million for NIS?

To be fair it was for 400 million + 500 million in investments (excluding the pipeline). It was still a rotten deal.

The sale of NIS for less then 2 billion + the pipeline (afteral Romania has no interest in being part of South Stream project, and thus it must go through Serbia) is comparable in treasondom as this deal.

The one thing however is that some of our prominent politicians tried to get even more treasonous terms for the NIS sale. Remember how some lobbied or MOL/OMV, desite them offering even less then Gazprom did.
