For a pizza delivery boy you have access to many high level people to find this one out or lol.

(JohnC., 21 March 2011 16:24)

That’s what I enjoy about your comments because you have no idea what your talking about to compare this drop in the proverbial bucket offshore of Albania to the Russian gas fields.

To access that gas from the sea bed seams they have to use a particular process that, to say the least, causes high levels of pollution. In fact if it’s done on the scale your talking then the entire coastline could be affected – something similar was done in Indonesia about 4 years ago and the aquifers are still polluted to this day. It will take millions to repair the damage.

(Danilo, 21 March 2011 17:45)

I notice the main South Stream pipe by passes Croatia, perhaps they are waiting on the Nabucco pipeline dream???? But in the meantime if you eat plenty of baked beans you’ll have enough gas for all Europe – you seem to be talking from the end anyway.

(Dream on, 21 March 2011 18:27)

Ukraine uses all external currency to just stay afloat mate. It earns a lot of money from the gas but that’s all it earns.

Why not get the US to build you a pipeline for Kosovo and see how generous they are. I forgot the west has not spent a penny on the Albos int ah last 12 years, but the Albos have high hope – lol.

Ps you can burst into a song now – we have high hopes…….

Of course they can't, the reason is very simple, so much money is being shiphoned out thur intermediary companies. Just google a bit and find out on rosukrenergo.
On the other hand it is an open secret that Tymoshenka was one of those controlling the in and out flows in Ukraine until she lost power.
The South Stream is certainly a good alternative route, but whether we talked about the North, the South or Nabusco routes, all of them are having a political background

Russia is playing on Serbia's mistaken belief that it is still a key player in the power dynamic with the West to draw the country's focus away from joining the EU and NATO, U.S.

The nostalgia for being courted by both Russia and the West remains a part of Serbia's yearning for self-importance and leads to a mistaken belief that it can chart an independent path while still committing to EU membership as a strategic objective. Serbia continues to believe it has a bridging role to play between Russia and the EU, which is widely scoffed at in European circles. Putin's visit on the eve of the anniversary of NATO bombing appears deliberately timed to remind Serbia of its past differences with the West. The Russians appear to be basking in their 'Serbia's Savior' role, using the tenth anniversary of the NATO intervention in Kosovo as an opportunity to raise their public profile in Serbia and cast the U.S. and other Western partners in a negative light.

This campaign resembles classic Soviet agitprop, vilifying the United States, while casting Russia as the fountain of justice and international order. Stirring up Balkan unrest is a dangerous game, but current Russian behavior demonstrates that it's the game they clearly want to play.

Serbs and Russians are profoundly ignorant of each other, the former (Serbia)from a lack of any real interaction throughout history, and the latter (Russia) out of utter lack of interest; other than Serbia's periodic usefulness as a naive and willing Russian pawn in the Balkans.

The only 'winner' in this calculation is Russia, who will continue to play on Serbia's naivete and stubbornness, to keep itself a player in Balkan politics and to keep Serbia out of NATO.

In spite of their misplaced and misunderstood sentimentality for Russia, Serberians crave American respect!!

The fact of the matter is that this company is rich because Albanian workers are paid peanuts while North America, US and Albania high profile leaders rape the country.

Serbia has cut a much better deal with Russia over South Stream while Berisha and Albanian business leaders lines their pockets with kickbacks, backroom deals and drug money selling the country and its people off for peanuts.

Albania and Kosovo are third and fourth world countries respectively, the poorest of the poorest in Europe. Serbia is far surpassed ecnomomic growth and prosperity of Albania and that is after being bombed back in the dark ages. The qeustion to ask is why Albania has always been in the dark ages under the Ottoman Turks or Envar Hodxa or now under Berisha. Part of the answer lies in the exploitation of its workers and people.

Even if the Russians really want to build that money sink, then so be it. The LNG market will bury each pipeline where some thought that it can be used as a weapon. But I also understand that countries without a coast and not (political) alternative such as Serbia rely so heavily on the Moscow while camouflaging this need with a high proportion of pathetic euphemism. The rest of the world will simply enjoy the benefits of a free (gas) market, where the customer can decide where to buy.

I wonder what's going to happen to the mental state of some people when this pipe-dream doesn't work out the way they hope with all their hearts (but not minds).

What sort of western conspiracy will they invent to explain it?

That is when Serbia went to China with the same request and we all know what happened with their embassy.

Yes and as a result we all know what China's position towards Kosovo independence is right? China is a permanent member of the UNSC with a veto and as such independence is, yet again, permanently blocked.

You guys keep shooting yourselves in the foot.

It is doubtful if Putin will really help Serbia. He does not seem to be in his old element because he has not vetoed the Libyan resolution at the U.N and let Obama and his European gang ravage tiny Libya.

Ah well, I'll be happy if Red Star can have a new, UEFA 5-star standard stadium capable of hosting a Champions League final one day. :)

Dear brothers ! I looked through the posts left here by our Albanian counterparts. What they are trying to persuade is:

1. Russia and Serbia are not brothers.
2. Russia is too weak to help Serbia.
3. Both Russians and Serbians apriori are bad peoples.
4. Neither South Stream nor anything else can save Serbia.
5.Russia follows only it's own pragmatic goals and cares little about Serbia.
6. Albanians are part of the civilized word.

We all know they are so nervous cause they fail to persuade even themselves and the coulpe of overseas Russophobes and Serbophobes. Íà âđàãîâ âñåãäà íàéäåì óïđàâó , êàê áû čõ ñóäüáà íč áåđåãëà !!!

(1) Large Cash Balance

(2) General Wesley Clark is on the Board of Directors (not for his ivy league school or miliary genius)

(3) Large stake owned by Albanian government and leader(s)

It will generate 100's of millions of euros in transit fees of which Russia will kindly claim their 51% and return it back to Russia while Serbia's 49% will be used to maintain the Russian owned assets.

Where did you dream that up? At least provide a link to back it up.

As for Ukraine, since booting out the western leaning sell-outs they are back on track. No more energy problems there my friend.

Think about your response. Libya in turmoil for years to come. Oil prices skyrocket, who benefits?

You think it will be a windfall for Serbia, Ukraine cannot even pay their energy bills with their transit fee collected from Russian oil flowing across their land.
(Dream on, 21 March 2011 18:27)

Of course they can't, the reason is very simple, so much money is being shiphoned out thur intermediary companies. Just google a bit and find out on rosukrenergo.
On the other hand it is an open secret that Tymoshenka was one of those controlling the in and out flows in Ukraine until she lost power.
The South Stream is certainly a good alternative route, but whether we talked about the North, the South or Nabusco routes, all of them are having a political background

Putin does not care about Kosova. He only cares how to milk Serbia and faten his pocket.

Hey Osama how much has the US spent in your “Kosova” bringing infrastructure to date? Nothing? What a surprise.

Maybe China and Russia abstained in the UN vote to give NATO and the West more rope to hang itself with in front of the rest of the world. Nah! Reading between the lines is for sissies and what governments tell you when they want to go to war is always true!
