Serbian Military: The Serbian military is the strongest in the entire region. i honestly dont know what your talking about when you say that it is obsolete. The Serbian army has just modernized over 200 Tanks, 600 APCS, hundreds of artillery pieces, purchasing 200 new IFVS, and equipin gits entire military with a new assault rifle the M-21s. As for the air force, you really have no knowledge of the Serbian airforce as you can see. Th serbian airforc eis the largest in the region and every country of the former yugoslavia and albania have no airforce except for the fact that they have a few trainer planes and helicopters. Serbia is actually procuring 30 new fighter jets to replace its older yugoslav planes. Serbia is the regional superpower military wise.

Economy- Serbia is also the economic superpower in the region. Croatia and Slovenia have no industry at all and live off of EU aid. I believe Tourism is their largest industry. Serbia is the largest exporter of Food, Energy, Weapons, and Metals in the region. Dont you see whats happening now. Montenegro is starving because Serbia prohibited exporting of Wheat for a few months. Serbia also is not covered in debt up to its neck like Croatia which owes 5 times more money than Serbia does.

Diplomatically-
Serbia is also the regional superpower diplomatically. Serbia has the most diplomatic missions abroad out of every country in the region. It has diplomatic missions in over 100 countries. Serbia has also been quite succesful in the diplomatic war against the US regarding Kosovo and has maintained a 60% majority of countries that dont recognize the Albanian UDI despite intense US pressure on countries to recognize it. Countries int the region like Montenegro and Bosnia all go to Serbian embassies when they need help in countries that dont have their own countries embassies. Just look at what happend in Libya. Croats, Bosnians, Montenegrins, Macedonians, and Bulgarians all flooded the Serbian embassy for help to get out of the Country.

My friend you are completely oblivious if you think that Sebria is not the superpower in the region. It has the largest and modern military, an economy with a strong backbone, and strong diplomacy. You can not honestly say that any country is more powerful than Serbia in the region. Even Hillary Clinton admitted that Serbia is the key player and key guarantor of stability in the region a few months ago. Also, why do you think the EU is so keen on havign Serbia participate in these regional meetings? because Serbia is the key player! Without Serbia the meetings will basically bear no fruit. Its llike having a NATO meeting, but the US refuses to attend. The meeting would fail because the US is the most powerful memeber. Get it through your head, Serbia is the superpower in the region.

Russia is playing on Serbia's mistaken belief that it is still a key player in the power dynamic with the West to draw the country's focus away from joining the EU and NATO, U.S.

The nostalgia for being courted by both Russia and the West remains a part of Serbia's yearning for self-importance and leads to a mistaken belief that it can chart an independent path while still committing to EU membership as a strategic objective. Serbia continues to believe it has a bridging role to play between Russia and the EU, which is widely scoffed at in European circles. Putin's visit on the eve of the anniversary of NATO bombing appears deliberately timed to remind Serbia of its past differences with the West. The Russians appear to be basking in their 'Serbia's Savior' role, using the tenth anniversary of the NATO intervention in Kosovo as an opportunity to raise their public profile in Serbia and cast the U.S. and other Western partners in a negative light.

This campaign resembles classic Soviet agitprop, vilifying the United States, while casting Russia as the fountain of justice and international order. Stirring up Balkan unrest is a dangerous game, but current Russian behavior demonstrates that it's the game they clearly want to play.

Serbs and Russians are profoundly ignorant of each other, the former (Serbia)from a lack of any real interaction throughout history, and the latter (Russia) out of utter lack of interest; other than Serbia's periodic usefulness as a naive and willing Russian pawn in the Balkans.

The only 'winner' in this calculation is Russia, who will continue to play on Serbia's naivete and stubbornness, to keep itself a player in Balkan politics and to keep Serbia out of NATO.

In spite of their misplaced and misunderstood sentimentality for Russia, Serberians crave American respect!!

Wasn't it mighty Russia who refused pleading Serbia to use their embassy as a communication center but Russia refused.

Very good partnership you have!

Your obsession with trying to be a "wanna be" Russian is quite strange to say the least. It seems you need permission to fulfill your bizaar quest. As a "superpower" you dont need anyone esle to do anything for you. You are the one who uses your influence. So lets examine that shall we.

To be a "superpower" your need :

Military strength.
Since Serbias stated goal of neutrality is till in place , and its military spending is 2x that of some of its neighbours , and has inferior Air Force, Military and Naval (almost none apart from some river boats), your first foundation is non existent.

2. your economic power - considering your standard of living is no where near that of regional leaders such as Slovenia and Croatia , and since you are still way behind in investment and ecomomic development , your second foundation is again a non - starter. You need to have money to invest - thats the leverage any superpower has - you dont! What do you plan on doing - threaten them with not giving them something you dont have.

And Thirdly - your diplomatic strength.
Considering what the rest of the world thinks of your foreign minister and the fact that your immature foriegn policy ( as demonstrated via your refusal to attend a recent economic conference because Kosovo was attending). it seems your third pillar of supposed superpower strength is also missing. Serbia can niether influence nor impact its immediate neighbours let alone the region. It cant even control 15% of its supposed territory and has not been able to stop the vast majority of its neighbours from recognising Kosovo. What dimplomatic power do you exactly have ?

The only thing apparently that is has successfully done over the last 20 years , is to isloate itself , antogonise and turn once freindly nations against them. In That regard Highduke , you are an unparallelled leader.

But then again all this will not bother you. Because in your world , you are all wise and everythign you say must conme to pass. But in the real world the rest of us think , well lets just say ...."not so much "

Good thing for Serbia you will never have the courage to leave the computer in your mother and fathers house and actually move to Serbia - they already have enough problems to deal with. Im sure all good decent Serbians will join me in saying - STAY AWAY!

You have a nice day now:)

The best Serbian to negotiate Putin is Nikolic cause he can gain most for Serbia. With a man like Toma Putin would be ready to give more advantages for Serbia. Next time I believe.

Boost relations? Putin already said this week that he wants Serbia to become the regional superpower. Wealth will go East and so wil we. Like I've been saying since '91: when RUS rises, so will Serbia-that's the lesson of the last 200 years. We are the Balkan Russians linguistically, culturally, religiously, politically & historically and it's high time to consumate our DESTINY
