True but, fair play to him, he was hiding from Milosevic as much as NATO. Given NATO's rate of accuracy - they bombed Sofia by accident, if you recall - he wasn't entirely out of danger in Montenegro either. As for New Guinea, that sounds a pretty extreme way to hide from the fact that you're an Australian.

Careful, mate - "where were you when they were bombing Belgrade?" is a bit of a provocative question around here, as the usual answer - Toronto, Chicago, London, etc - doesn't sound too heroic, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, where were you when they were bombing Belgrade?

Firstly, my children, grandchildren and I were not born in Serbia and I have lived all my life in several non- European/North American countries – South East Asia/Asia. I was generally uninterested in the goings on in the Balkans until the wars started.

“….where were you when they were bombing Belgrade?”

I was posted and living in New Guinea at the time, but I did not put myself out as a potential leader of Serbia whereas Zoran did. I expect a potential leader to stand by his people not hide and then try and rewrite history.

There are several political leaders in Serbia that I strong disagree with their views but I respect them because they were in Belgrade during the illegal attack on Serbia. Zoki was hiding in Montenegro.

Blimey, that quietened things down. Don't be ashamed, come out and admit it: "I was hiding in a NATO country while Serbia got bombed". There, that's better isn't it? :-)

Where was Zoran when they were bombing Belgrade? With his good mate Djukanovic in Montenegro enjoying life.

Does anyone really care?
(sj, 15 March 2011 13:28)" I think a good many people care. To many he was the future of Serbia.

Unfortunately Dindic was painted as the great saviour of the Serbian people but the fact is he was only an opportunist. This man would have sold out anyone and everyone for a price and then packed his bags and went back to the Fatherland to live out his life in luxury. Where was Zoran when they were bombing Belgrade? With his good mate Djukanovic in Montenegro enjoying life.

The litmus test of whether you are doing the right thing for your people is whether you are liked or disliked by the west. Zoran was loved by the west and that tells you he was in the process of selling out Serbia. He was assassinated by his gangster mates for trying to swindle them, that’s all. I like my heros to be true and real people with some sense of honour, but this guy was the worst kind of politician you could have.
