What I am about to post is not in defense of Putin.
When it comes to the west everything is pure and righteous, but anyone on the opposing side is evil and a criminal – people that believe this are brainwashed from paying too much attention to the media and believing everything they say.
Do you think that Vladimir Putin is the only politician to become wealthy as a result of his office?
Al Gore should have been president of the US and could have brought the country to a standstill demanding that he be inaugurated rather than George Bush. He did not because he knew that a lot of solid gold goodies would come his way if waves were not created and today he is obscenely rich to say the least – in laymen’s terms he was paid off.
Then there is Bill Clinton – well to say he become even wealthier because of some astute investments would be laughable. Then look at Donald Rumsfeld and his association with Halliburton.
Here is how things work in the west. While in office you do not accept any money nor do you put your hand in the till because during your term you will do lots of favors for the Corporations etc and once you retire from public life the solid gold goodies start to arrive either in the form of cheques with 6 figures on them or if they prefer in giving speeches and getting paid to cover up the bad taste of being bought off.
You see Putin spreading Russia’s authority over “weak countries such as Serbia”. What do you think the US is doing in Iraq or Afghanistan and now attempting in Libya – a working holiday perhaps?
Now for foreign politicians that do the US bidding, once they retire they start to get cheques from those Philadelphia Avenue Institutions like the Institute for Promotion of Democracy etc. The more they have done for the US the more gold they get.
What would have been a good idea was to measure Obama’s wealth before becoming President and see it 2 years after retirement from politics.
So you see it’s not as black or white on either side, but increments of shades of grey all round. I respect people having different opinions, but having a blatant one-eyed view of world geopolitics is a worry.
