Catherine Ashton is trying to tread a very fine line; one the one hand it’s to promote the EU/US policies while on the other not to offend anyone at the negotiating table. However, one group she has not mentioned is the Russians. They have a great interest in that region – you know the gas pipeline, but perhaps they don’t like talking about that topic.
The US thinks it’s still a power of sorts and believes that having a base in Kosovo will somehow intimidate the gas pipeline, but the US is now totally overrun with party drones who don’t realize the time of day nor how far their power has eroded. These party drones have limited intellect, consider their pride has to be maintained even at the cost of the downfall of their country and so they continue with unsustainable policies.

Ashton comes across as very fair in her approach. I wish her every luck with this. I just hope she can resist the inevitable pressure she will face from Washington and the key EU supporters of 'independence'. It should be clear to them by now that simply trying to force Serbia to recognise Kosovo is not going to solve this issue. There needs to be a proper dialogue leading to a sustainable solution.
