It's hard to protect witnesses in a "country" without a proper civil structure and where vendetta amongst rivaling clans is considered normal. You don't only have to protect the witness against the alleged perpetrator, but his whole family against a whole clan.

It's bad, it's sad, but true. And that's why I'm very doubtful that democracy and legal structures can ever be achieved in a society like it is present in Kosovo.

"why don't you protect them in Belgrade where no Albanian can get near them?"

But there are many Albanians and Muslims in Belgrade and some of them or other gangsters would carry out a hit for pay.

I can see his dilemna, how not to insult the EU, ie EULEX, but still destroy the credibility of the investigation as it is known that the end result will show no evidence to support the Serbian propaganda.
If only there was a truly independent organization they could criticize the investigation and call it corrupt without running the risk of alienating those they are also courting.

But we will not accept that our three-year's work ends up as unimportant case files

hm, I am wondering which three years are exactly talking about, and you said admitted that you were the one feeding Marty.
As for witnessess, if you have any, why don't you protect them in Belgrade where no Albanian can get near them? But there are no witnessess, right?
