Did you ever read about albanians in Kosovo seize narcotics? No, because they are all involved in transporting the drugs. When Serbs seize narcotics it means they are doing something about the problem.

In Kosovo there has been NO arrests what so ever of criminals. Its only EULEX who has been arresting albanians involved with criminal activities.

Is there anything else to expect from a place governed by criminals. This report is simply piling up on other reports that came out the last couple monthes, since.... yes, since Mr Marty put his nose at the wrong place.
Blame him, he is use to it already :)
Clean your place if you want one day to be recongnized as part of the civilized world !!

It is a really funny to read such garbage (especially) from U.S. side. Long time U.S. involvement in drug business abroad speaks clearly. For doubting Thomas and for everyone who cares may be useful to read the last books from Peter Dale Scott and watch the Russian documentary about U.S. air base in Manas, Kyrgyzstan. This a revealing documentary "BAZA" (in Russian language "base") is available in RuTube (Russian version of YouTube). Moreover, it may be very helpful to find out where is the Camp Bondsteel's Echelon.

This is an annual report on all the countries in the world. It's only Serbian outlets than think to feature Kosovo in their headlines, but what's new. Do you really think Thaci is going to stop the drug trade; he is collecting revenue from it, he is the kingpin.

Until you get rid of Thaci and other KLA leaders, you might have a chance of getting rid of the drug trade or at least have a government willing to combat it.

The current Serbian government is committed to stamping out the problem as evidenced with police and custom actions in line with European standards.

This article (if you want to call it an article) clearly shows B92's bias towards Kosovo. The same report that you are citing here also said the following about Serbia: "The Republic of Serbia is an important transit country for narcotics and other drugs along the traditional Balkan smuggling corridor leading from Central Asia and Turkey to Central and Western Europe. Heroin grown and processed in Afghanistan is smuggled through Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, and Kosovo into Serbia, and onward to other European markets."

The State Department says that the U.S. supports the efforts Serbian government has invested in combat against drug smuggling and gives positive evaluation of the country's contribution to the development of regional police cooperation.

“The U.S. will continue to support efforts of the Serbian police forces against drug smuggling in the country and in the region,” it is said in the report.

I never thought I would say this BUT....Thank you USA. You just confirmed what the whole world already knows. Kosovo is a part of Serbia and always will be. It will never be independent. First, the report is very similar to any other report over any country in the region or in the world which has similar problems with drugs. There is nothing extraordinary in the report that could be used in Serbia's favor as this news media tries to depict it.

Second, with the last paragraph of this article, B92 is trying to create an image as if State department discusses K-issues as if they are actually Serbia's issues. If the report is about Kosova, why State department would talk about how is US supporting Serbia against its own drug problem? Or this is just the Serb branded version of the actual report.

Please let us see the actual report and prove me wrong. Otherwise these naive attempts to play propaganda, with every single sentence and paragraph that have "Kosovo" inside, is plain dumb.

No! As the article pointed out, it's a Kosovo specific problem. Of course, drug routes go through several contries. But in real countries, the insitutions do their best to fight and stop drug trafficking. In Kosovo, state officials (or some members of their clans) are involved in those activities, and so they have no reason at all to stop drug transports - no, they even stop custom officers which take their job seriously.

Oh, how surprising. Having in mind where the average Kosovo 'politician' got the money to build their villas from, nobody should wonder about that. Since the US recently revoked 'financial aid' for NGOs & puppet-officials to Russia & China and nations in these countries' historic spheres of influence, they may be focusing on the Middle East, in which case this can be interpreted as further abandonment of the Albanians.

The State Department adds that the Kosovo police “continue their efforts to combat the drug trade, but they possess limited resources, and counternarcotics are a low priority.”

Correct. Kosovo is neither the producer nor the consumer of this drugs. With the low amount of resources the officials have, it is not surprise that countermeasures are so low in that field. There are plenty of other problems in KS. Only an increase of development in this area will ease that situation. Besides, Kosovo doesn't border neither to the EU nor the producing countries in Asia, so the transit route is much more complex and considering the fact the Hungarian and Serbian border police intercepts frequently this kind of shipments, it tells us that Kosovo by far not the only problem in this area.

Oh, how surprising. Having in mind where the average Kosovo 'politician' got the money to build their villas from, nobody should wonder about that. Btw, it fits perfectly to the report from some days ago about the suicide of a customs officer who morally couldn't stand the pressure of allowing drug trafficking that came from higher officials.

Since the US recently revoked 'financial aid' for NGOs & puppet-officials to Russia & China and nations in these countries' historic spheres of influence, they may be focusing on the Middle East, in which case this can be interpreted as further abandonment of the Albanians.

"This problem is Balkan problem and not just a problem of Kosovo."
(Demi, 4 March 2011 14:02)

God I am glad we don't have to deal anymore with this cancerogenyc society. We should just anex the north and exchange the remaining Serbs with Presevo troublemakers and finish this sad story forever. Also, we should maintain complete travel and economic embargo.
(Tito, 4 March 2011 13:46)

Your name says everything about you being a "Serb"!
Go to Croatian sites and propose there giving Dalmacija back to Italians,we real Serbs(not Yugoslavs) are not going to give one inch of Serbian land(whole Kosovo)!

Demi!

How could the drugs go through Serbia?

When Kosovo controlled and patrolled by Albanians and Americans.

Why don't you draw a line from Afghanistan to Campbondsteel and then extrapolate the results.

This may be a prelude or way out for the US. They have finally realized what the Thaci lead government is all about. In order to save face this may be a way for the US to finally end their occupation of Serbia. "Zivela Serbia"

I thought I would read that the US State Department was paid by Dick Marty to put out these lies about drugs in Kosovo.

This tit for tat stuff we read here is so petty and utterly useless.

You should be concerned for your youth who are lost to IV drug addiction and possible HIV.

You should be concerned about those individuals who promote the sale and distribution of this crap for their own profit and could care less about you and your families.

Yes, we read about this 20 years ago. However, back then it was Albania. The US has expanded Albania's territory.

Anyways, this is great news isn't it?

Business must have increased and gross margins are up.

From Camp Afgahanisan directly to Campbondsteel is no coincidence now is it?

I wonder if Campbondsteel offers drive thru service?

Will Kosovo's leaders wage an ugly media campaign again to discredit findings and will they accuse Serbia for reportedly having launched big lies to EU and US of Kosovo leaders ‘ masterminding of drug-trafficking ,influence in case investigations and governing the fragile judiciary in Kosovo. The findings speak of the drug trafficking only. Criminal offences , as the abduction of women in Kosovo, human trafficking, organ trafficking are not included here. Has Al Caeda its affiliates in Kosovo, this is the issue to be investigated by US and EU.

So for all those serb comenting here and trowing dirt at Kosovo should know that we are on the same boat. Only through cooperation can we get rid' of this filthy items threatning our society. Be serious and don't use report like this to propagate against albanians or the albanian countrys.

This problem is Balkan problem and not just a problem of Kosovo.

RE: Thaci blowing smoke

Do you really think Thaci is going to stop the drug trade; he is collecting revenue from it, he is the kingpin.

Until you get rid of Thaci and other KLA leaders, you might have a chance of getting rid of the drug trade or at least have a government willing to combat it.

The current Serbian government is committed to stamping out the problem as evidenced with police and custom actions in line with European standards.

Amazing how the k-trolls can immediately blame others for their complete failure, what a stone age mentality !
Is there anything else to expect from a place governed by criminals. This report is simply piling up on other reports that came out the last couple monthes, since.... yes, since Mr Marty put his nose at the wrong place.
Blame him, he is use to it already :)

The day I will read a similar thing like "KPS seized 1.7 tons of heroin", I'll celebrate with a bottle of champagne. But only after the drugs are destroyed. We know, in the independent dream state of Kosovo, it can even happen that seized drugs are stolen from the police headquarter ;-)

Oh, 13.5kg. Impressive! Almost the same amount as 1.7 tons. And it happened in 2007. A question: Has these been the last case for seized drugs in Kosovo? Have these been the drugs which later disappeared from the KPS headquarted, maybe? ;-)

State Department: the Balkans are a heroin transit route.

Here's the page you want - http://www.state.gov/p/inl/rls/nrcrpt/2011/vol1/

This is an annual report on all the countries in the world. It's only Serbian outlets than think to feature Kosovo in their headlines, but what's new. Kosovo needs more resources, it should pay its border control and police forces better, and Serbia makes constant problems. No gold stars for anybody.
