When is Vukcevic going to be fired? He keeps committing mistake after mistake after mistake. Purda some days ago. Ganic earlier. Divjak now.

I doubt that the west will give Divljak to Belgrade, but stranger things have happened before. It was known weeks before the final decision was handed down that the UK would not hand over Ganic and that they were only pretending to give the matter true judicial consideration.
Belgrade is not stupid and although these requests for extradition are based on legitimate evidence, it’s a strategy to put on record and show the fallacy and masquerade of the western judicial system which has for decades claimed that it’s “separate from Government”. However, the west is dying and these are still young men – plenty of time; that is if they don’t die early.

I was speaking to a bosnian friend of mine last night about our latest article/ report, and tentative plans to work with/ interview certain journalists in belgrade (not of/ this site!) later this month. he interrupted: jovan divjak has been arrested in vienna. i felt as if the air had been knocked out of me.

my frnd, who is bosniak, has always had great admiration for jovan, since serving under his command in the jna back in the day -- the late 70s i think, maybe early 80s. we met the general about 7 years ago in sarajevo, upon my frnd's and others' recommendations. what an amazing guy -- he's a great living hero to the people of sarajevo, whatever their ethnicity (i won't even mention religion.) he walks down the street,w/ his mane of white hair, and suddenly he is surrounded by youthful fans -- mostly young women. calling out "Deda" and talking and laughing...

jovan divjak is one of the great heroes of sarajevo the fact that he is serb (i don't thing he describes himself as such) adds just another layer, another reason to look up to him.

this desperate need for the blgrd regime to turn the tables on the defenders and go after them -- it is so sick, but also it shows the world, again and again, that despite their potestations, they are following directly in the line of milosevic, but w/out arms (for the time being.) the world needs to be reminded.

i have had my differences w this site, and w many of the regular posters, but let me make this one thing clear: divjak will go to trial and be convicted in blgd over my dead body. anyone miss that? i mean i very much doubt that austria will extradite him (for all of the right and wrong reasons) but if they do, and if he goes to trial in one of blgd's courts,i promise the battle of a life time. the blgd regime will live to regret it. we will fight them to the bitter end, whatever it takes. and we will win.

meanwhile, they continue to harbor thousands of "their" war criminals, mladic being top dog. this is, of course, in violation of intl law. i look forward to the day that this regime falls, and the radicals take power. which will mean... hardly any change at all. esp.ly w jeremic, all he has to do is blink, and presto, the RADical appears.

it is so sad,if you care, to see just how far serbia has gone downhill. we send jovan our best thoughts and prayers, and await a speedy return to my beloved sarajevo.

The only thing disgraceful is your comment, and Divjak's treason. What makes this man so great in your mind, the fact that he became a Turk? You can have him, he is yours, and he no longer has the privilege to call himself a Serb after fighting for muslims.
If you want to talk about great Sarajevans, then you should look up to this man:

He is truly great.
Cheers!

This is just another attempt to evade responsibility, another effort to rewrite a savage and shameful episode in Balkan and European history, and yet another attack on the decency of the good people of Sarajevo. Truly disgraceful.

RE: Disgraceful and disgusting

What is disgraceful is that there are very few Serbs left in Sarajevo and the Bosnian extremists are turning Sarajevo into a muslim state.

What is more disgusting and disgraceful is that Socierebey, Siladjic, Ganic and others went to the point of bombing and killing their own civilians in order to create this Muslim fake state.

Belgrade born but Bosnian to the very best extent, Jovan Divjak is as close to an honourable, decent and heroic individual as anyone who was ever born in Belgrade.

Cowardly, vindictive Serbian diaspora internet commentators clearly pale in comparison to this man.

This is strange! When Serbs used the word scum against Muslims: no problem!! But if I use it against Serbs, the comment does not go through! Stange indeeed!!

I remember seeing this traitor on western media during the war, spitting on Serbs.
Come home to Serbia Jovane, there is a nice comfy jail cell waiting for you. It is 20 years too late, but better late than never.

Great! Divjak is a traitor of the worst degree: he worked for the Serbophobes gathered around Alija and was marginalized after the war for being a Serb by his new 'friends' so hopefully he'll be less able to pull a Ganic and escape justice
