Tick, tock, tick, tock....it's just a matter of time before your collapse, but keep thinking you can still afford to buy dictators and police the world if it makes you feel better.

It might be that Mrs Warlick is sincere in expressing good wishes and that USG supports Serbia on the path to EU. However, everything in reality looks like a pipe dream and polite diplomatic lip service. That development is highly unlikely. WHY?
I am sure US embassy press office follows the mainstream media blogs & commentaries on head news such as: Libyan crisis (a lot of pro Gaddafi and anti civilized attitudes), public repeated anti-Jewish outbursts (backed by majority), and the sale of secret service tycoon’s DELTA retail chain (praised cleverness & shrewdness of the ex-owner). In most of commentaries prevails not a particularly healthy ‘state of mind’ – the one compatible with western value system and rule of the law.
Superficial analysis of the majority of opinions of those who consider themselves as ‘Serbs’ (regardless of their real MNE high hills origin), clearly indicates outburst of hatred for a system of moral and intellectual values -labeled under the general terms 'America' and 'Jews' (because ‘THEY BOMBED US’ not asking questions why that happened at all?… which in fact nobody wanted with exemption of few including Miloshevic). The same are attracted by the value system represented by general terms such as 'Gaddafi' and 'Miloshevic' (because those dictators 'protect’ bellies of people with petro-dollars or a street black market 'where everything was possible to offer & buy', and show the middle finger defiantly towards West - culture and civilization, identifying themselves with dominant sub-standard spiritual needs of the population majority, while killing those who do 'not like' them.
The most natural needs of people with few (remaining) bestial & infantile tendencies in their consciousness are THE FREEDOM (and Libyan citizens regardless of current financial status have a natural inkling to it). Freedom in their normal forms of expression includes competitive articulation of own mentality without prejudice, aggressive attitude, and with respect to any ‘the other'.

Under contrary, people in a country where Mrs Warlick is on assignment are thrilled with dictators and tycoons which 'give' them ‘half of teaspoon’ to maintain the physical aspect of life and a space for bribe & corruption in addition to heavily financed sport events & ‘champions’. Life is relatively good, if "Daddy" like Mishkovic, Miloshevic, Gaddafi, Putin 'give' a dose of their self-stilled ‘democracy’. Under contrary, a life is horrific and demoncratic if someone needs to invest efforts in learning and development of own mental skills, in order to individualize (de-collectivize/de-tribalize) its consciousness and reach respectful social status (without the key support of cousins from secret service or Gaddafi sons or siloviki in the Kremlin). It is still beyond imagination to them that it is possible creation of own life without unnatural jumps over the ‘ranks’. Refinement of morally - so that one becomes ‘citizen of tomorrow’ who has no problem in making a clear distinction what is ethical and what is not is also within personality development range…

DO INOT threaten anyone, but be 'on (logic and humane) line of service' to ‘the others’.
This is the essence of life in HAPPIEST COUNTRIES of today in a modest Scandinavia, Holland, Israel, Costa Rica, etc. It is understandable why that most of emotionalized people can not mentally digest and accept that if one attacks 'neighbors' it has to pay the price, if one defiantly resists natural trends-ie, the internationalization of our Planet also ought to pay the price, if one is PUSHING HARD 'counter all wheels of civilization’ and habitually points a finger at the wrong direction then HE MUST PAY THE PRICE ... That is a simple law of causality.

Those who really trouble their life in any imaginable shape and create out of their country a miserable black hole DO NOT SEE the prime sources of their misery – tycoons, Russophile secret service guys, and ultraconservative public MNE ‘narrators’. They stay out of their radar screen.. Mutual recycling of own truths and reviving many mad conspiracy theories are jewels of intellectual life in Serbia today…also a sign of potent impotency to seek valid EU mental model of life.

Formation of critical mass of people in Serbia who would realize and admit that everything easier, softer, more predictable, and more interesting in their daily life comes from abroad right from the minds of their ‘declared disliked’ is very remote option. Most refuse even to accept a speculation on HOW their own life would look like IF liberated from intellectual products of those they mostly hate (Jewish and American bright creative & innovative minds). They use both software & hardware (in part paying for it), they cannot be without the latest model of expensive mobiles and fancy cars, and do import ALL where is possible to find a trace of the added value. It would be inconceivable for them IF world would test their double moral standards and block the access to such intellectual products for a while.

What their arrogant but basically logically and ethically primitive life would unfold in its physical and humane aspects under such circumstances? Someone predicts they would cultivate variety of predatory impulses…and direct it towards anyone who looks weak or shows weakness and humane conduct among themselves. They would be forced to relay on own technology and the rules of ‘rusty spoons and vendetta’. Without the so-called 'dushmanski' minds, their land will be certified island of 'horror '.

Therefore, I personally wish Serbia to be EU member ‘yesterday’ but for its own sake and for peace and the sake of ‘the others’ the international community should look for a mature not a sour fruit. Do not make even BIGGER mistake then you’ve done by EU accession of Romania and Bulgaria.

dusanka,

you do realize that that Serbia's current economic and social conditions are America's doing.

The first thing the US did to Serbia after the 1999 bombing was to dismantle and stop the arms selling of weapons. Yes, little tiny Serbia with 8 million people was exporting over 4 billion dollars worth of military equipment per year.

Anways, if the US wanted to help Serbia, then they could just throw some money there way.

It doesn't take much money to make 8 million people live a better life. Also, the US could pay the 18 billion dollars to build the bombed out infrastructure from 1999.

Dear Mary
I don’t think that B92 will print what I think you can do with your US support, but I suggest that you try and extract your buffoons from mess they have managed to entangle themselves in.
We now have Albanians killing American servicemen; opa bato!!!!!!! To call the successive American administrations halfwits would be too kind.

We do hope that u really mean what u are saying. It also means that our relationships are getting better. It gives us,young people, a brighter future ,especially if we get that candidature for the European Union membership.
We do need your support in the Economics and the investments. There are a lot of unemployed younger people,as well as a lot of pensioners. They have been downsizing older employes, who had know-how, and have been giving their jobs to young ones who had no idea of how to go about it.And it created a problem of running many institutions and companies.
Perhaps, u could help our government in solving this problem ,somehow.

The US has helped enough already. It's now time they end their occupation of Serbia and shut down Camp Bondsteel.

The USA has been a great friend to the former Yugoslav republics and especially Serbia.

Yes, it was so nice of the US to dismantle Yugoslavia. Ultimately destroying the identity, culture and infrastructure of the slavic people.

At the same time the US expanded neighbouring Albania's drug trade, prostitution and organ harvesting.

Today the crime in the former Yugoslav republics is higher than the pre breakup of Yugoslavia.

Even the religious intolerance has increased by radical muslims and jihadists.

The US did such a great job on the destruction of Serbia that even Montenegro and RS in Bosnia are different countries with a distinct speaking language.

If i could, i would nominate the US for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012.

Today we have Mary Warlick stating that the US is there to support Serbia in joining the EU.

So far the help of the US has been priceless.

Yes, the US are great friends of Serbia, so much that with friends like that, who needs enemies.

by the way,

did you read about the Albanian from Kosovo that killed to two US servicemen at the German airport yesterday?

I'm sure Mrs Ambassador can pull a few strings and get them into NAFTA instead if she's that keen to show her support. There are enough basket case countries in the EU already.
