When Europe cut off Serbia from EUTELSAT in 1999, guess who gave them a satellite uplink? Israel, on their AMOSSAT(sp?), at least until that disgrace Albright called up and ordered it be cut off. Isrealis an co were particularly active in the Balkans during the 1990s on the Serb side, but that's a story that the MSM refuses to touch. Best left alone...

On the UK front, I accidentally came across some news on the recent hate crime figures, quite an increase in verb, physical attacks on jews and desecration of property! The civilized UK has so much to show the rest of Europe!

Nenad, I'm not denying for a second that Serbs had their 15 minutes as fashionable villains in Hollywood, I'm just questioning ???'s implication that this is a Jewish conspiracy involving Israel rather than just lazy stereotyping.

Anyhow, it should be obvious to anyone that the perennial villains in Hollywood, or at least for the last 30 years, are the Brits. British actor on the cast list? Must be the bad guy. That fenian Mel Gibson's made an entire career out of Brit-baiting - I'm surprised he didn't find as way to squeeze a few redcoats into Passion of the Christ. And you know what? Instead of getting all prickly and whining about being hard done by we revel in it.

Hey Ian, maybe the “double standard” has something to do with ove 400 years of Muslim, not Jewish occupation of Serbia? Maybe with the Christan children kidnapped and conscripted to kill their parents in the name of Islam? Maybe with the Islamic slave trade which decimated cultlures from Africa to the Volga years before the Europeans mucseled them out; you do know where the word slave came from? Maybe it was the genicidal policies of the Sultanet against the Southern Slavs carried out mostly by Albanians? Maybe the Islamic battalions doing the Nazes durty work? Maybe it’s the role those Albanians played in partitioning and trying to destroy Jugoslavia at behast of NATO? Just maybe. But than again being English that is not the history you can relate to. British historical interaction with Muslims was more along the lines of special relationships memebers of the foreghn survice had with the little Arab, Pakistanie and Turkish boys they meet at their deplomatic postings who treated them so much nicer then their frigid Anglo-Saxon wives, if you know what I mean. According to Godwin's Law, the argument has ended and you have lost it by bringing up the Nazis. My comment was regarding European hypocrisy (aka Political Correctness) and you felt the need to bring up WW2. You have ended the argument and have thus lost it by bringing up the subject; you have resulted to last resorts.

Also just because what has happened in the past doesn't mean that in the future people/ countries can't work together no matter what ethnicity, religion or creed. Ranting about 400+ years ago means nothing, get used to present times. Every single country in the world has a dark history, why should that hinder/ affect the future? All people can be friends!

I would like to point out to my Serbian friends the difference between a righteous Jew and a "chazer".A righteous Jew would never bomb Serbia. The Jewish and Serbian peoples have both suffered immensely throughout history and anybody who took part in the bombing of Serbia who calls himself/herself a Jew belongs in the latter category. And a lot of peoples in the lattter category whether Jew or Gentile can be bought and sold like a common whore.

I think I should explain ???'s comment and also explain what one of those ignorant contestants said when they were forced to leave that 'reality' show.

That Maja Nikolic C list celebrity (I think thats her name) said upon exiting that she doesn't hate all jews, just those that bombed Serbia. (Thats fine, err wait a second the jews that bombed Serbia... hmm)

??? said that Israel should apologise for Jews in Hollywood and then changes his argument, not that those films were created by Jews, but that if one were to change anti Serbian movies to anti Jewish movies it would cause upset. Apart from this sneaky changing of the goalposts they are both arguments based upon ignorance.

Why? Because Jews did not bomb Serbia. Because Israelis did not make anti Serbian movies. Both ignoramuses need to understand that these people are Americans. Just because certain individual Americans of jewish faith supported bombardment does not make Israel or Jews as a whole responsible.

It all stinks of a combination of ignorance / lack of education and possibly deliberate misdirection to cause anti semitism.

On the other hand lets not dismiss Ian's argument so quickly. The world generally is a lot less tolerant of attacks on the jewish faith than other faiths. However, that is as much to do with the holacaust as to do with anything else.

Nenad

Dave,

There definitely are instances of anti-Serbian bias in Hollywood, though I would argue it's purely out of American ignorance of all things Serbian rather than any actual problem with Serbs. Most people in American just associate Serbs with 1990s media reports, which were mostly anti-Serbian, of course.

I can easily recall several expamples, one being a Seinfeld episode from the last season in which Kramer purchases an industrial-strength shower head produced in Yugoslavia. He tells Jerry that Serbs make them this way because they are very serious about maintaining excellent personal hygiene. Well, this was the complimentary part of the discussion -- Jerry's response isn't so flattering.

Anyway, Jerry probably just needed a joke for his show.

(??, 3 March 2011 16:36) Why should they when its true. You dont get well over 90% of the convicted war criminals are Serbs for the most heinous crimes against humanity then the Serbs protest its anti Serbian only in Serbdom world. What they portray of the Serbs on the screen is very much watered down for the sensitivity towards the viewers.

I'm an Atheist and I'll openly criticise all religions. If I were to criticise and say why I dislike Islam or Christianity it'd be fine; however if I were to do the same about Judaism I'd be considered "Anti-Semitic, that is the point I'm trying to raise. Even though I dislike all religions, I think they should all be treated equally; I don't agree with giving a special status to Judaism.

Also I don't actually live in Bradford, I just consider it my local city. I live in the middle of nowhere near Haworth, you may of heard of it. Also I'm personally not too keen on the Pakistani populations in Bradford and Keighley, they cause a lot of social problems, I think it is terrible how they treat their women too. I'm no Dhimmi, I'm not going to abide by anyone's religious law.

I didn't realise it was Israel's job to police TV programmes all over the world.

This is an example of double standards. If Islam had been attacked in this reality TV programme it would be accepted as normal and no apology would have to be made. Ataman I don't think new laws are necessary either.

I met the professor responsible for drawing up the original rules that govern the RRA. He knew exactly what he was talking about about standards, he was completely non political. He was so fair that he didn't even want to comment about political appointments to RRA today and in the past.

However, I am not so 'fair'. The problem is twofold - political limitations on what members or the RRA can do due to pressure by patrons of those media companies and their backers in politics. And lack of strict implementation of existing laws due to the reason already given.

What needs to be done is for members of RRA to be appointed in a completely non political way and for a proper period of time. To be frank I'm not sure that the clergy has any place in modern society in being on such an authority either - those on the authority need to be experts with proven independence.

After all, hat is the biggest reason British foreghn policy was always so pro Muslim. Just sayin'

Deki - and you are saying what? That because no one else in the world seems to be standing up to racism, that Israel shouldn't? Even though you seem to think that racism is a world-wide problem?

Recall that 6.000.000 Jews were rounded up and slaughtered just for being Jewish only 70 years ago. Can you blame Israel for being sensitive?!

This is an example of double standards. If Islam had been attacked in this reality TV programme it would be accepted as normal blah, blah, blah, apology being made for attacking Islam? Not a chance. Double Standards in European society!

Who was it and what did they say? Does Israel ever apologize to Serbia when one of the jews in Hollywood make anti Serbian films?

These are just the movies that are anti-Serbian. If you replace Serb with Jew in these movies all hell would break loose.

Behind Enemy Lines
Diplomatic Siege
The Fourth Angel
Extreme Ops
The Hunted
The Rock
Hunt for Justice
The Hunting Party
The Peacemaker
The Filthy War
Force 10 from Navarone
Storm

I don't know what it was but these "reality shows" are the most disgusting kind of program. No need to repeat again.

I just hope this won't be an excuse to some sort of new "media law".

As the old football song goes: no one likes us, we don't care. Engleski inat!

What about all the other people facing racist remarks each and everyday, who is going to watch out and police the world for them?
(deki, 3 March 2011 12:28)

Do not know, worth to watch out for New York Gators (gated community residents) - one turned out to be an SS 88-Stormfront Standartenführer in disguise ;-)
