Nope, it was the EU and the UN who was pushing forward for talks and negotiations.
(Top, 26 February 2011 18:41)

Not quite sure what is the point in fooling yourselves.

Kosovo was Always open to dialog, serbia refused.

What changed was serbias failure at the ICJ. These talks were Serbias official response to the ICJ ruling that kosovos independence was legal.

Serbia has chosen not to make further legal challenge, it painted itself into a corner with its failure, and with the EU's prodding and insistence, has agreed to talks with the people it has spent decades insisting dont exist.

The fact is that the US was not interested in any form of discussions taking place at all – I don’t mention the Albanians because they are of no consequence in this picture at all as they do what they are told by the master. These upcoming “discussions” are the product of the compromise in Serbia’s UN resolution – you see it can be resurrected very quickly if things fall apart. So the US had to compromise – you believe what you like, but what was going to happen in the UN would have been catastrophic for the US; not that it matters now considering its financial woes.
As far as what was on offer before does not mean it’s on the table now. You seem to forget that your sponsor, that mighty windbag of windbags, the US, is BROKE and this coming summer will have more than enough on its hands to quell a revolution that is brewing in the air.
As far as partitioning Kosovo, personally I agree, but that’s just me and I do not speak for any other Serb. In fact partitioning was raised even by Milosevic himself, knowing that the Serb population in Kosovo was only 200,000 while the Albanians numbered 2 million. So what’s new about that?
“But 100% of population diciding for their future. That is what albanians likes to reach with those talks, and everybody has to respekt that and not looking for carving Kosova because is not a cow. It would like to prosper like all others”.
This is nice rhetoric and makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but it still does not put food on the table. How is Kosovo going to prosper?????? These talks are about letting the Albanians go into Serbia proper to look for work – see all the industry opening up in Serbia, but not in Kosovo. Ask yourself why should Serbia allow the Albanians to look for work? But what is interesting is that the “persecuted Albanians” are more than willing to work for Serbs in Serbia proper – very interesting because I would never work for my persecutors
Now what does the Albanian side have to offer in exchange for this to happen????????? Please not talking about joining the EU because it’s finished as we know it today – look it’s allowed Serbia to progress so far without Mladic in the Hague – does this tell you something?????? Unfortunately, you live in the 20 century and not in 2011.
Once again can any Albanian please outline how is Kosovo going to survive on its own. I’m not asking for great details, but a picture and please no more nonsense about prospering because it’s free. So far my question remains unanswered, but I am very hopeful someone can enlighten me.

Does this mean that you support the partition of Kosovo, because 95% of the people living there want to stay within Serbia?
(Top, 26 February 2011 18:41)

I would probably not ask because in no uncertain terms many "regular" Albanians here told that they need the territory, not the people. And the "North" of Kosovo is not even the goal. The goal is most of Montenegro, the entire Northwest of Macedonia and everything in Serbia south of Kraljevo-Nis line, "Sanxhaku" included. All this of course without the people living there.

I am just not sure how they want to achieve it - the pipe dream is probably by escalating the tensions and hope that NATO will somehow step by.

Why we do see such outcry here about Dick Marty is not because they would object what we assume did happen. They hate this idea because it puts their cause into quite some bad light and endangers the dream. Without outside force they can't even take the wooden toilet building in the garden.

The majority of the "real" Albanian people are rather indifferent to that... but as we often see the worst kind of "patriot" is a patriot from the apartment block of New Jersey at the meeting led by his ex-countryman living in a suburb of New York.

Good example for a later one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_J._DioGuardi

"During the campaign, DioGuardi attracted some press attention for his advocacy of Albanian rights (he was photographed burning the flag of Serbia outside the Serbian Embassy in New York City) and his statement that without his efforts, there would be no independent Kosovo"

Apparently, burning a Serbian flag was judged as a good idea for Senate election campaign. I wouldn't be surprised to learn, some "regulars" here voted for that maniac and were truly disappointed as he failed against Kirsten Gillibrand. Compare their pictures...

First it was not talks whatsoever then it was only talks about recognition of Kosovo, then only technical talks and nothing else, but now it’s more than technical talks.

Albanians politicians never has statet that this will be more than technical talks, Serbians yes since it started to talk about talks.
On the other hand lok how serbia site changed their stand:
First was Kosovo je Serbie(Constitution). Then everything but indipendence. Then can not be albanians everything and serbians nothing (that really reminds how you see kosova as something to sell or by).
Day before yesterday lets talk. Yesterday some politicians think that dividing north is a good option(Jeremic).
By the way what happened with no explicitly or i don't remember the rest(Tadic, Jeremic)?
Talks! What about your constitution that see Kosova as part of Serbia? And on and on and on.
I assure you my freind you will try whatever you like. But Kosova is gone for good. We are not anymore in 1912 now is 2011. Is very clear that has nothing changed in serbian politician site since than.

Your greatest sponsor, the US, is going down the sink hole faster than water down an unplugged drain and you think that a goat herder from Pristina is going to nail Serbia. You really need help.
