"I often wonder about international law. It keeps the ordinary people in check, but it allows the Sadam Hussains and the 'Colonel' Gadaffi's to cold bloodly murder unarmed citizens.

Milosevic should have been arrested much earlier too.

Yes - but who's going to supply the force? ("Moral suasion" only works with countries that really aren't all that bad to start with.) Are you dreaming of an international force whose use would have to be approved by Russia and China? It's not going to happen - not when China is blocking web-searches for the word "jasmine."

Does international law still protect Gadaffi?

Why do we have to put up with the diplomatic nonsense of immunity for this kind of vicious power-mad idiot?

It is a perversion of the notion of national sovereignty that allows this. International law should now be beyond this. It is time for all heads of state and governments to answer to international law for preventing free speech by the killing of unarmed civilians.

Awakened people however will not be silenced any more by torture and killings. They want the share of their resources, freedom and equality.

So well said Leonidas. Now I root with all my heart for the Lybians just I did for the Egyptians.

A regime which is prepared to shoot its own unarmed citizens in cold blood can no longer claim any kind of legitimacy.

Cold killer godfather lookalike Gaddafi must be held wholly responsible for the bloodletting and try bring him to court. The world shouldn't let these horrific massacres go unnoticed.
