I think the west has to start putting up OR shutting up. The Serbian people are sick and tired of the false promises (i.e. lies) that spew out of those visiting foreigners. All the west has been doing is dribbling little carrots on Serbia and floating small loans while trying to ignore all of the abuses and provocations they caused in the balkans for the past 21 years. They have to get over their denial about their "new world order" policy directly resulting in the death of tens of thousands of people. Future historians will write a truthful history about how the west refused to hold an international conference on Yugoslavia and instead financially and militarily supported rebellions in Yugoslavia and destabilized the government. Milosevic did not appear out of thin air as the west would like you to believe; he was born out of the reaction to the takeover of the balkans by the west. No matter how much the west blathers about multi-culturalism and human rights, they cannot erase the fact that they started and assisted in the destruction of multi-cultural Yugoslavia.

So who does the west favor? Expect a parade of high level western politicians either traveling to Belgrade for PR and photocalls, or media statements in support of their favorites. Interfering in the sovereign affairs of a foreign country is the rule when it comes to foreigners meddling in Serbia. Stick your finger in the pie, wiggly it a little, pull it out and lick it. Does it then taste sweet if you get what you want?
