Notice that the US has been leading the charge for freedom and democracy in Egypt from the rear in the hope that Mubarak would regain control. The US is funding this tyrant directly after it attempted to do the same via the IMF except China vetoed that idea.
The US hypocrisy is just breathtaking, but they don’t see this at all. They think a few adds on TV and everyone will love the US.

They must remove this tyrant and his regime at any cost. If they agree to Mubarak's statement and let things go back to how it was, they'll regret it for the rest of their lives. Mubarak will crack down really hard and make sure this type of protests will never happen in his life time. All those that have been arrested will be tortured, and all his opponents jailed or removed. There is no turning back.

All signs indicate that this tyrant wants to solve the crisis by force like all tyrants before him. The repression to be followed would be horrible. I hope that the demostrators can somehow hold out.

Mubarak said that he will not run for presidency again, but also that he will not step down before September election.
