Serbians return from Egypt

Apples and Oranges Pele. Besides, Serbians sounds nicer than Serbs. Serbs sounds like Herbs :D Do you want to be called a Herb or a Serbian?

OK I'll have my two cents worth...

To be Serbian is to be a citizen of Serbia. One can be of a non Serb ethnic group and still be Serbian.

To be Serb is to be an ethnic Serb from either Serbia or from Croatia, Bosnia etc.

There is no need to confuse or complicate anything here - the same thing exists for Croatian / Croat, although until recently it did not exist for Bosnian Muslums, now they also have Bosniak to exclusively describe their own ethnic group.

The interesting thing is that in Serbia itself there is no word for 'Serbian'. In Croatia however, they refer to Serbians as Srbijanci, although this is not adopted in Serbian. Of course in Croatia they need to distinguish between their own Serb population and Serbian citizens...

Canads

Americans = Amers

or better yet

Germans = Germs

Serbs, not Serbians. Serbian is either language or adjective. It could be written Serbian citizens as well.

Two different ways to say it, the same meaning. Be open-minded to different solutions to the same question.

Worst would be Macedonians - they could be called "Macs".

Imagine Mr. Organic Hashish coming to a McDonald's:

- I want a big Mac!
- With or without a kidney?

I believe that you just may have solved the name dispute between the FYROMars and the Greeks, but McDonalds may object. For example,one would never be able to say again: I just ate a big greasy Mac,or, so many other gross and funny things. As for Thaci and Ceku, they will be honored with their pictures on kids meals soda cups for next Halloween series with the usual characters: Frankenstein,Dracula...
