Let’s hope the people finally get rid of Mubarak and his hangers on. However, there are two countries that are looking at all of this with fear and trepidation – the US and Israel.
The US sees this as a direct threat to a stable middle east and to its “partner for peace” in the region which has helped Israel isolate Hamas in Gaza. Any new government may not be as compliant as Hosni and looking at the situation in the region as a whole if Egypt succeeds then its Yemen then Saudi Arabia and that’s also bad news for the US; real bad news especially as Lebanon has a new Prime Minister from Hezbollah. The beacon of freedom and democracy is now afraid of what will happen if those principles were really implemented and they couldn’t control the democratically elected governments.
Egypt is a very special concern with the leader of the opposition being Mohammed El Baradei, a highly respected and like diplomat throughout the world, and how would they be able to control him? He would be an extremely difficult man to try and tarnish his reputation. I’m sure Hilary is having many sleepless nights these days.

Tunisia has really started the wave of world wide "enough is enough" ! After a french protectorate, here we go with an american protectorate. Next on the list? Algeria, Yemen and some other arab countries.
Whether you hand them by the or not, like Leonidas suggested, doesn't matter, what really matters is that they have to go !

I hope when the Egyptians are done with Mubarak the attention should turn to Saudi Arabia and get all those kings and princes parasites and hang them by the balls. This is the least they deserve.
Leonidas

I agree again. But hanging them by their balls they risk to survive. We don't want that.

Leonidas we disagree very often but this time I fully agree with you. I too hope that their revolution will not be hijacked.

"The Egyptian people have suffered years od mass unemployment, soaring prices, corruption, cronyism and a severe lack of rights and freedom.

There comes a point when you have been stripped of so much human dignity that you can't take it any longer. The Egyptian people have reached this point.

I just hope their revolution is not hijacked by any religious fanatics group which will resort to a new form of tyrrany.

Vive la revolution and good luck to all Egyptians.

PS Seeing all those thousands of Egyptians on the streets risking their lives in the pursuit of freedom you just wonder how did Mubarak managed to get elected each time with 99.9% 0f the votes.
