Let’s take the two countries that most consider to be richer than the rest i.e. Slovenia and Croatia. These two have tourism as their main source of income – there is no country on this God’s earth that does this, simply because all you need is one or two bad years and you’re screwed financially. We are now in our fifth year of the GFC.
The EU is not asking but demanding that both enter into partnerships with Serbia on various fronts in order to earn income as the EU is strapped from cash due to rescuing members from financial disasters. It has now reached the point where the EU cannot continue to pump money into both of these entities. While the Slovenes do not object to the proposed arrangement as they are pragmatic people, the hardline Croats cannot come to terms with this notion as they believe their spin of Croatia was the financial backbone of the old Yugoslavia.
They see Josipovic as a traitor who will sell them out to the Serbs by becoming another “Yugoslavia”. There are many level headed Croats that realise their survival can only come from following a path of economic cooperation. Yes, Serbia will get the biggest benefit from these arrangements, but it does not need them to survive the others do.
Macedonia and Montenegro are not even worth mentioning as they totally rely on EU handouts otherwise they would be collapsed states long ago. BiH is a country on paper only and its survival is simply due to the EU – no money no BiH. In fact RS acts and behaves in economic terms as if its part of Serbia already.
Both the world bank and imf agree that the only self sustaining country is Serbia. It has more than enough mineral and water resources, energy with plenty of potential to expand and a very large area of arable land. The other states do not even come close to this.
The EU has 2 paths. One is a much looser alliance of members or complete disintegration. The US will never be the same as its decline has only been accelerated by the GFC and much of that thanks goes to the Republicans and George Bush. The situation in the US is the Great Depression 2.
Unfortunately you will never get the US media to print the truth so the BS continues – look at today’s economic report; it’s all glowing with an increase in the price of house (a good sign said one economist) and rises on the NYSX. However, towards the end it was mentioned that more people are applying for social security than in previous months.
Its influence is declining as can be seen in the China Sea, North Korea, Iran and now Lebanon, former Soviet states with a Prime Minister coming from Hezbollah.
If the US was still in the same position as in the 1990s, the report that NATO knew that Thaci et al were criminals for at leats a decade would have never reached the light of day. Notice the eerie silence from Washington on this issue.

In the first instance due to the GFC the EU has reached its limit in supporting the Balkan entities and it is desperate to reduce it financial obligation to a whole lot of unviable countries such as Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and BiH. Kosovo is neither a state nor a country in the true sense of the word nor is it by any stretch of imagination self sustaining. The EU is looking at ways of “washing its hands” of the Kosovo problem – yes I know that US is at odds with this policy, but if the US does not have the financial means then its input is meaningless. There have been many closed door arguments between these two allies over this issue.
You are correct the entire Albanian population will not be punished as whatever crimes were committed were done by individuals. However, as the people involved is your leadership it does not paint the Albanians in the best light and no country wants to be associated with that type of person except the US as its reputation is now non existent.
I don’t doubt for a moment that some Serbian forces committed crimes as war is a very ugly and unpleasant business, but Mary’s comments are only diplomatic throw away lines designed to placate the populace.
As to Srebrenica that is still unfinished business as the so called massacre is just that. First it was 5 000 then it was 10 000 then it was 8 000 then it oscillated between 8000 and 10 000 and now it’s settled for 8000. The monument at Potocari contains names of people that are still alive today but live outside the country. It contains names of Bosnian soldiers killed in action around Tusla and the last major offensive from Sarajevo.
If the Albanians can’t be self sustaining then the EU will not continue to prop it up. It will look at ways of reversing what has already been done and this could take up to 10 years.
I don't know how anyone can believe this organ theft nonsense! To harvest a person's organs, you need trained specialists along with expensive equipment, sterile and stable operating conditions, and a means to swiftly transport the organs in question to the recipient. Some organs only survive a few hours after removal. There is simply no way in my opinion that the Albanians could have managed to pull it off. This is one horror story that thankfully had virtually no chance of actually happening.

From all previous reports the "evidence" desptroyed (after being photographed) consisted of IV tubing, a syringe, empty medicine vial, and some dirty bandages found at a dumpsite. I am sure that it was decided that the photograph would be as valuable as the originial if needed.

Both the world bank and imf agree that the only self sustaining country is Serbia. It has more than enough mineral and water resources, energy with plenty of potential to expand and a very large area of arable land. The other states do not even come close to this.
The EU has 2 paths. One is a much looser alliance of members or complete disintegration. The US will never be the same as its decline has only been accelerated by the GFC and much of that thanks goes to the Republicans and George Bush. The situation in the US is the Great Depression 2.
Unfortunately you will never get the US media to print the truth so the BS continues – look at today’s economic report; it’s all glowing with an increase in the price of house (a good sign said one economist) and rises on the NYSX. However, towards the end it was mentioned that more people are applying for social security than in previous months.
Its influence is declining as can be seen in the China Sea, North Korea, Iran and now Lebanon, former Soviet states with a Prime Minister coming from Hezbollah.
If the US was still in the same position as in the 1990s, the report that NATO knew that Thaci et al were criminals for at leats a decade would have never reached the light of day. Notice the eerie silence from Washington on this issue.

From all previous reports the "evidence" desptroyed (after being photographed) consisted of IV tubing, a syringe, empty medicine vial, and some dirty bandages found at a dumpsite. I am sure that it was decided that the photograph would be as valuable as the originial if needed.
Of course I can picture the actual scenario as going somewhat like this. "here is our proof positive that organs were removed by Albanians and sold on the international market" and everyone in the room is looking and scratching their heads going "You have got to be kidding me"

Now that this is turned over to EULEX for investigation the world can move on. I am sure any serious investigation will take 5 or more years and it would be unethical for them to release information during the investigation process so after a couple of weeks the only hype you will see on the subject will be in the Serbian media only.

If the Hague court was really independent and served justice then:
1) they would never destroy evidence they acquired.
2) They would have finished this mater a long time ago.

Carla del Ponte is being sued by a group of Srebrenica widows over allowing all the evidence from there (personal items found on the victims) to be destroyed rather than returned to the families, leaving them with nothing to remember their loved ones by. Once a trial is over, or it is decided that charges won't be brought, the physical evidence is routinely destroyed.
Hopefully now there will be a full investigation. I think those whom protect the accused will have to step aside now that Western Europeans have asked for an investigation. This smells a lot like Manuel Noriega. The criminal government is fine so long as nobody learns of their actions. Now that the world is starting to be curious, and there is evidence of "at the very least" high level corruption, Thaci will likely have to step down. Eventually, I believe, Kosovo's good Albanian inhabitants will ask for his resignation. Nobody wants a criminal as their head of state.

Marty has clearly stated that these alleged crimes are not to be taken for covering up or justifying crimes that Serbian forces of Milosevic committed on Albanians.
Even if this alleged crime is proven then only individuals will be punished not Albanian nation.
Serbian forces have murdered 8000 people in Srebrenica but Serbs are not finished. Only individuals have been indicted. Despite this fact Republika Srpska and Serbia still exist. So will Kosovo.
I don't know how anyone can believe this organ theft nonsense! To harvest a person's organs, you need trained specialists along with expensive equipment, sterile and stable operating conditions, and a means to swiftly transport the organs in question to the recipient. Some organs only survive a few hours after removal. There is simply no way in my opinion that the Albanians could have managed to pull it off. This is one horror story that thankfully had virtually no chance of actually happening.

But, as some of us have known, given Kosovo's fledgling economy, more people will turn agianst this regime in Prishtina and other lies will be exposed. Like the phony 12,000+ dead (which hasn't been verified by ANY LEGITIMATE organization)that keeps getting thrown out by Albanians to highlight "their plight" as if they are the only people on the planet suffering.
I can tell you that their lobbyists influence here in the States has dwindled because there are more important things this country has to focus on (unemployment, China, weak dollar, housing crisis, the never ending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc...)than the plight of 2 million people that most Americans can't find on the map. The Russians and others know that this fraudulent state has opened up a pandora's box of other countries that wants "theirs" too. But too bad the last ones that will recognize that the deck of cards has tilted away from them will be the Albanians. This is only the beginning. No telling how the Kosovars will react when things really start getting desperate and the handouts end soon....

In the first instance due to the GFC the EU has reached its limit in supporting the Balkan entities and it is desperate to reduce it financial obligation to a whole lot of unviable countries such as Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and BiH. Kosovo is neither a state nor a country in the true sense of the word nor is it by any stretch of imagination self sustaining. The EU is looking at ways of “washing its hands” of the Kosovo problem – yes I know that US is at odds with this policy, but if the US does not have the financial means then its input is meaningless. There have been many closed door arguments between these two allies over this issue.
You are correct the entire Albanian population will not be punished as whatever crimes were committed were done by individuals. However, as the people involved is your leadership it does not paint the Albanians in the best light and no country wants to be associated with that type of person except the US as its reputation is now non existent.
I don’t doubt for a moment that some Serbian forces committed crimes as war is a very ugly and unpleasant business, but Mary’s comments are only diplomatic throw away lines designed to placate the populace.
As to Srebrenica that is still unfinished business as the so called massacre is just that. First it was 5 000 then it was 10 000 then it was 8 000 then it oscillated between 8000 and 10 000 and now it’s settled for 8000. The monument at Potocari contains names of people that are still alive today but live outside the country. It contains names of Bosnian soldiers killed in action around Tusla and the last major offensive from Sarajevo.
If the Albanians can’t be self sustaining then the EU will not continue to prop it up. It will look at ways of reversing what has already been done and this could take up to 10 years.
Let’s take the two countries that most consider to be richer than the rest i.e. Slovenia and Croatia. These two have tourism as their main source of income – there is no country on this God’s earth that does this, simply because all you need is one or two bad years and you’re screwed financially. We are now in our fifth year of the GFC.
The EU is not asking but demanding that both enter into partnerships with Serbia on various fronts in order to earn income as the EU is strapped from cash due to rescuing members from financial disasters. It has now reached the point where the EU cannot continue to pump money into both of these entities. While the Slovenes do not object to the proposed arrangement as they are pragmatic people, the hardline Croats cannot come to terms with this notion as they believe their spin of Croatia was the financial backbone of the old Yugoslavia.
