Serbian paramilitary formations defended the constitutive and titular nation of Yugoslavia, and acted with Constitution of Yugoslavia. Even if they commited crimes (I think lesser then attributed to them). KLA was a rebelious terrorist organization without any constitutional rights.
(Grzegorz, 23 January 2011 10:29) ..............Those info you will find only in the Serbian Library nowhere else. and about KLA they stop another massacre as one in srebrenica or vukovar done by the thugs as Serbian paramilitary a real army personnel doesn't kill unarmed people as elderly women's and kids and ex-Yugo constitution doesn't mention any of doing such things so probably you are reading ups-down whatever are you reading and "thanks" to them (paramilitary) and Milosevic regime Serbia is written in history as country committing the worst crimes since WWII and new era of young Serbians should work and think about they bright future as everyone else, making peace and holding one is hard ,to destroy takes a split second you do the math....Peace, Respect and Honour its all above..

All members of so-called KLA should be treated in the same way as USA treats terrorists in Guantanamo!
(Grzegorz, 22 January 2011 20:11) Hmmm... terrorist in Guantanamo !!!! the KLA is people army. even those in guantanamo they dont get even close with numbers of killing innocent people by Serbian paramilitary in Bosnia.Croatia and Kosovo ....and no matter what if innocent people are killed on each side and are proved they should be pay for it ....

This is a crime against humanity. First planned Belgrade and Dick Mary a false report in a Russian kitchen, then they arrest people that they "think" have done something and then they want to talk about Kosovo's status, which Belgrade could dream about sweet. Pathetic humans

Oof! I hate to imagine the pain of having your tongue stabbed and having a lighter hammered into your head or skull, but I have a question, does anyone know if these ex-KLAs who've received this 101 year sentence had also captured Albanians who they tortured and slain all because I've read stories or articles about some KLA members who targeted fellow Albanians who they suspected were "collaborators" to the "enemy". Does anyone know if these ex-KLAs had Albanian victims as well?

Dear Serbs that are taking this pathetic road of infamy and delusion, please stop for a day and think with a sober mind. Why sponsor more and more lies?

And this is being said by an Albanian? Most Albanians in Kosovo cannot function without crime and corruption. I'm afraid to disappoint you; sometimes things just don't go your way. Oh well...

I'm glad to see justice being braught to these criminals. They will burn in hell for killing so many innocent people. However, first they will suffer in a Serbian prison for the crimes they have committed.

@IUPM: My question to you is if many(but not all) Albanians were capable of simply ostracizing non-Albanians who're confirmed to discriminate them and ostracize Albanians who're confirmed to betray them do you still feel that these Albanians are still developing a bad reputation? Personally such actions on their part wouldn't bother me.

These KLA animal scum should be given the same treatment they subjected their prisoners to. Does Serbia have a death sentence?

More on differing norms from today's stories: Miladin Kovacevic was sentenced by a Serbian court to 2 years in prison for nearly beating a student to death (after 3 months already served). The two friends with him, who were each charged with one kick each at the victim, were sentenced in an American court, also to two years each. The Serbian minister of justice was pleased to see that the Serbian and American sentences were so similar.

KOSO

pre 13 godina

Ataman,

you are 'forgetting' two important things. A Serbian court has NEVER found any Albanian of any nationality innocent no-matter the situation or facts.

In America you can be set free with serving as little as 60% of your time with good behavior. California might be reducing that percentage even lower.

Ataman

By American standards, the sentences imposed in most European courts are trivial. So maybe these are just European norms?
(Amer, 21 January 2011 17:48)

In particular, in Central/East Europe. Oddly, sometimes crimes against property mean longer terms - but the "condemned" are released sooner.

10-15 years for rape with murder is normal. 20 if things are really ugly. If done during hostilities that seem to be a mitigating factor and we are back to 10 years. If "just" killing some fools and no sadistic / sexual perversion displayed, that will be 7 years.

Reminder: the case with Bytiqi brothers.

In cases as described I would certainly give life sentence for an other reason - to prevent a similar crime being committed again. If the perpetrators would be hanged or shot I would not lose a minute of sleep either.

Sexual offenders are offenders who most of the time fall back again, just keep the kids safe and streets clean of this trash.

I suppose, the fact that these crimes happen during wartime, somehow acts as an extenuating circumstance???

So far all that I've seen about these crimes has been the accusations, and the judge's statements that the accusations were proved. But there have been other cases where charges were made and said to have been proved that turned out to have had disappointing outcomes (for the prosecutor). The KLA had a reputation for playing rough and maybe these guys were guilty as charged, but releasing some of them, and the low sentences, are not encouraging signs. My guess: the prosecutor was able to demonstrate that crimes were committed, and that these guys were in the vicinity, without being able to prove that they were directly involved. Which would not be a good thing, because it would mean that the perpetrators are still out there.

To conceal their crimes, the killers dismembered the bodies and threw them into nearby dumpsters, and in Lake Livočko.

Usual Serb conspiracy that only Serbs them-self have done to their neighbors, obviously could not be proved, just like mladic is not in Serbia.
