wonder why we still call them Macedonians?
it is well known that they are slavic people like us.

Yes, we are Slavs. Macedonian-Slavs...Is it one or the other?

For all the misery that the Serbs have inflicted on the Macedonians, this was a nice gesture!

What misery? No Serb has ever inflicted any misery on anyone in my family.....

I believe Macedonians, Serbs, Bosniaks, etc. have some of the blood of the ancient people who lived there before Slavs came. And actually the Slavic connection is more linguistic than genetic. The Slavic migration wasn't very large and mainly to the north. The ancient Macedonians were noted as being a very tall people, as Macedonians are today, and Serbs and Bosnians are tall too. I really believe you both are connected to the ancients who lived in the area, and that it's foreigners who have long sought and diminished that connection to make you seem like long ago "invaders" in the region when in fact you are the descendants of the ancients who lived in the area (plus supplemented with others who came).

Trolling on all b92 articles is still trolling. This article has nothing to do with Kosovo..yet you casted the first insult.

My thoughts on this articles were this, "why does Serbia have a embassy there?" It still is a good gesture to help out a neighbors citizens. Somebody mentioned they should be called Serbs because they're slavic, I disagree, they are a different people from a different socio-cultural nation.

Canadians and American's have a near identical historical background but they are not the same...just like Balkanic slavs; which was migrated 7th cent which is 1400 years ago?? Get real.

That is a nice thing for Serbia to do. Serbia has a much bigger diplomatic network than Macedonia, as it is a much smaller country.

A similar situation happened in 2006 in Lebanon when Israel invaded, Maltese citizens were able to take refuge in EU embassies as it is their right as EU citizens. I think some agreement should be made to allow Europeans from non-EU countries to take refuge in EU embassies in special circumstances such as the current situation in Tunisia. It is impractical for every country in the world to have an embassy in every country.
