Kosovo Albanians lie through their teeth about pre-1999 Kosovo where they, in fact, had every social amenity and social subsidies to levels that ruined Yugoslavia and that was partly what inspired Slovenia to be the first to secede from a country that was throwing the its wealth down the bottomless pit of social services-dependent illegal Albanians
(Blackbird, 17 January 2011 18:55)

Woow, I did not know that Yugoslavia was such a paradise. But now I see it and I agree with you that all the other nations were stupid and ignorant for getting out of such a paradise as soon as they could...

One of the reasons the SAA vote is being held up is an amendment the Greens are trying to have added that calls on Serbia to stop it with this license plate nonsense (not a direct quote). The Serbian delegation went in with only 6 solid votes (+5 where the procedures haven't been completed) while guaranteeing the folks back home that there were no problems? (The numbers are from a Serbian reader's post to the SAA article comment page.) Maybe the Department of Motor Vehicles should have waited with what really looks like a provocation, what with an important vote coming up and all.

hmmm...looking to lap up propaganda at every opportunity?

Yes, the article was evident, but again per staff's feeble comment regarding tradegy. so the guy got stopped...was held up for a few minutes then sent on his way..with his plates. where is the tradegy?

so come now, now that you guys see fit to mention me by name. please do expand on staff's claim of tradegy.

The rest of what i wrote was in regards to the feeble propaganda the article spewed regarding serbs and supposed "saftey reasons" for getting illegitimate plates. Wich is what i assume allowed staff to make his inane comment.

so please feel free to chime in Je¿ g³upi and attaman.

who do serbs fear so much that they are unable to get kosovo plates?

The albanians that WANT them to participate in kosovo institutions, or Serbs who will view them as Traitors for doing so?

This is a very tagic incident for the journalist, but be aware that it could not be better for Serbia. You see, Europe and the rest of the world is following what is happening. Make no mistake. The K Albanians have soon eaten up the very last of their support.
(Staff, 16 January 2011 22:11)

You know what's tragic for a journalist? Being beaten to death like it happens in Moscow every few months or so.

Removing illegal license plates from a journalist's car would not be considered a tragedy anywhere in the world.

It is a shame that I read this comment so late, 7.10 pm New York time.
First of all the church in Jak is not a cathedral but since you are Jewish I don't hold it against you. I visited it in 1972 way before you. So don't be so childish. As for your links generally I don't click on them. I assumed that you made it to France too not just to Balkan countries. Now I am not so sure.

Once you have your d.o.o. your can buy a car for it - and drive as much as you like. The problem is if you want to bring your OWN car from the States or if your car is older than 5 years (apparently, Serbs are afraid of junk or salvaged cars flooding the market from EU. Cars from the States are of better quality - but try to argue with the government!)

The very idea of putting "Kosovo police" and "law and order" along with "enforcing" in the same sentence is laughable. The main reason NATO got involved in Kosovo and backed the narco-mafia pretend state was to provide a military camp for the U.S. in the Balkans, but the main reason the Albanians in Kosovo made the deal for Camp Bondsteel was that they had their eye on stealing the Serbian province for many, many decades because they did not want to live in a country where law and order was enforced, as it was by Serbia and Yugoslavia before it, Tito notwithstanding. It's much easier to get rich quick when the law has no power and when you can exploit, unhindered by the law, the poor, the weak and the desperate. Kosovo Albanians have bitten the hand that feeds them before (they lie through their teeth about pre-1999 Kosovo where they, in fact, had every social amenity and social subsidies to levels that ruined Yugoslavia and that was partly what inspired Slovenia to be the first to secede from a country that was throwing the its wealth down the bottomless pit of social services-dependent illegal Albanians) and now that some of those Kosovo Albanians are strutting around, feeling the power of unhindered slave trading, it won't be long before they bite the hand of their former handlers in the west who are now also intimidated by them.

This journalist had Vranje plates, which in this case was clearly a mistake of the police officer and which is currently being investigated as Kosovo Interior Minister stated.

Thank you - this is the truth. I do not comment on the rest as it is part of the dispute - we know that we disagree.

Now you can explain what you just said to the people like AdamNYC and ex-Hungarian Joe. Hopefully they will listen to you because you are presumably Albanian. Not sure how Joe will twist himself around - but probably he will.

Good idea for Joe: Karma Dhi is a Putin-agent Albanian who is dating your colleague, Irina and they conspired to move Vranje out of Kosovo.

Let's set something clear.
This journalist had Vranje plates, which in this case was clearly a mistake of the police officer and which is currently being investigated as Kosovo Interior Minister stated.

The real issue here is Serbia issuing license plates for all cities of Kosovo, ie PR (Prishtina), KM (Mitrovica) and so on.

Now if that is not provocation what is then....

For some of you commenting here on Albanians this and that I have a question. What is wrong with Kosovo Police enforcing the law and order.

These plates issued by Serbia for Kosovo should be seized immediately. Kosovo has for 10 years now patiently allowed old Yugoslav plates (which sere used by Serbs) but issuing new ones is clearly a provocation.

Kosovo has its plates and they should use them... I see no problem Kosovo Police enforcing this.

The problem doesn't end here. Serbian mobile operator works illegally without any permit in Kosovo. Authorities have issued free SIM card with EUR 5 worth minutes and dropped the prices to calls in Serbia just for them, but people chose to use the illegal operators.

I have no problem to allow Serbian telecom to operate in Kosovo, but that should be done legally with appropriate permit of Kosovo government and pay taxes like the rest of us.

Not to mention Serbs have not paid a dime of electricity since the end of the war.

So quit complaining and get used to the real life like the rest of us.

And idiot "eshtë" an idiot. I am sure the KPS idiot looking at my license plates will ask me how high he has to jump or more importantly - how low has he bow.

"Kosovo police harassed Saturday at the Končulj administrative border crossing near Bujanovac journalist and member of the Republic Broadcasting Agency (RRA) Živojin Rakočević over new license plates issued by the Serbian Interior Ministry and bearing the letters of the southern Serbian town of Vranje.

“A policeman immediately started removing the plates without warning. He told me that driving with these plates was forbidden. It was clear he was annoyed by the plates and an officer named Hoti told me ten times that these plates could not be used in the state of Kosovo,"

Anyway no matter how you want to twist your story, you wont get an award for this piece of gibberish, maybe criminals should write about police harassment too.
Lets not mention the provocateurship of these brave souls that continue with

So obviously the smart thing to do is change plates at the "border" as Serbs in northern Kosovo do when they cross the Ibar. From KM to KS. Albanians do the same thing when they're travelling north. This is nothing new.

hmmm...looking to lap up propaganda at every opportunity?

The albanians that WANT them to participate in kosovo institutions, or Serbs who will view them as Traitors for doing so?

what is "tragic" about it?

let them get legit plates. why is that so hard? who do serbs Really fear? do you think kosovo authorities dont WANT to issue kosovo plates?

tell us staff, what is likely to happen for a serb who does register his plates with kosovo authorities?

do you think they fear albanians, or do they fear their own fellow serb extremists who will look at them as traitors for not seeking plates from a forign govt?

yes, eruope and the rest of the world is still following .... the question is, are you really that deluded to think your fooling anyone?

The greatest threats to serbs of kosovo today, are their fellow serbs.

Now I have a business idea: Somebody could construct 'automatic numberplate changers'. You press a button in your car, and the plates are turning and showing the appropriate numberplate which is needed for crossing the "Kosovo borders", or bridges, or whatever. Hmm, didn't James Bond's car already had something like that? ;-)

Maybe the Albanians should register cars in Beograd rip off the Serb plates and put Albanian ones on "Pristina'. Would the Serbs react of course they would. Abide by the law or leave and go back to Beograd, it's that simple.

karma dhi

Blackbird

pre 13 godina

You know what's tragic for a journalist? Being beaten to death like it happens in Moscow every few months or so.

Removing illegal license plates from a journalist's car would not be considered a tragedy anywhere in the world.

As far as I look at the map - Vranje is far enough from Kosovo. We are talking about a resident of Serbia Proper driving in Kosovo on plates issued by a municipality which is within Serbia Proper. What else I think - the nick reveals.

(Amer, 17 January 2011 17:33)

If Amer comes to Serbia he can register a company called "Amer d.o.o"

You probably don't even need to come for a while:

http://www.office-serbia.com/?gclid=COTNuvzzwaYCFRYv3wod6x4WHg

Once you have your d.o.o. your can buy a car for it - and drive as much as you like. The problem is if you want to bring your OWN car from the States or if your car is older than 5 years (apparently, Serbs are afraid of junk or salvaged cars flooding the market from EU. Cars from the States are of better quality - but try to argue with the government!)

You register that car where the company is - if you like it, you register in Vranje. You can drive it everywhere as long as you have 3rd party liability insurance.

First of all the church in Jak is not a cathedral but since you are Jewish I don't hold it against you. I visited it in 1972 way before you. So don't be so childish.
