By the way your pictures of cathedrals have nothing to do with the subject. Anyway it is a nice hobby to see them. France has those more than any other country. They are truly amazing. The French can be proud of them.
(Joe, 16 January 2011 19:46)

See, Joe - I do not know what to say about these "French" and "German" cathedrals...

That you did not recognized the Russian and Serbian romanesque cathedrals was to expect, but that you did not recognize the two most famous cathedrals of Hungary, one in Ják, the other in Lébény - that was a shocker.

The cathedrals have a lot to do with the subject. They prove where Hungary, Serbia and Russia was before Turkish and Mongol invasions.

Let's see the list of these "French" cathedrals. :(

v1 = Vladimir, St. Demeter, Russia
s1 = Studenica, Serbia
d1-d2 = Decani, Serbia, Kosovo region
j1-j4 = Ják, Hungary
L1-L2 = Lébény, Hungary

The last picture was taken in my garden, was posted there just to make sure everyone knows who is behind the "interesting pictures" nick.

You really should travel more in Hungary at least.

Well, whose fault is it? Certainly not the fault of Weiss Mari nani (aunt Mary Weiss).
Again I go back to the starting point of 1945 (comparison with Germany). The Russians were masters of their country. Definitely no foreign domination. Agricultural lands, minerals, etc. more than enywhere else but poor results in GDP and living standard.
What it shows is that an awful depend on the creativity and work habit of the people, the so-called creative geny. If some people are "trehany" (not very creative in English) they will not look good in comparison with others.

The only two countries where "second serfdom" was prevalent and which "made it" is Japan and Finland. Recently China, Russia and VietNam is on rise - but not there YET. Arguably, Russia being behind of China simply because so far Russia had barely a DECADE of relative prosperity, whereas Japan had about four and China about two and half.

Go back to begin of 1960-s and you see Japan being a pariah. Go back to 1950-s and you see "forced tourist exchange" in Finland with Trabant being the dream car of Fins. It just takes time.

If you go back to Rus of 1230, to Hungary of 1400 or Serbia of 1350 - you see completely different pictures where the country versus the rest of Europe is.

Few pictures, all except one taken by me and featuring some French and German romanesque cathedrals and churches. Do you see some oddity?

"Germany is moving closer economically to RUS"
highduke

It is always very entertaining to read your comments. By your twisted funny presentation Germany the economic powerhouse of Europe, the master of the EU with an annual GDP of $3.2 trillion is moving closer to Russia with only $1.3 trillion GDP. So the smaller one is attracting the big one. This is really interesting. Does Angela Merkel know about?
The truth is that Germany lost WWII. Russia won it and celebrate the victory every year. But what victory? With much more population (about 143 millions) and tremendous quantities of natural resources shouldn't Russia's GDP be much, much higher? Shouldn't the Russian living standard be one of the highest in the world like Norway's or Switzerland's?
Lately I learned the Russian song Katusha because of its nice music and enjoy listening to it on youtube as it is song to enthusiastically on May 9. At the same time I always think about this strange paradox, the victors after 65 years still live much more poorly than the vanquished.
