"Advances by the Chinese military in cyber and anti-satellite warfare pose a potential challenge to the ability of our forces to operate and communicate in this part of the Pacific," he said."

And the Chinese should continue to invest in these military advances. A much more sensible than continue to invest in dubious debt instruments from you know where.

Thanks for that interview with the Chinese UN Ambassador and the BBC.
You can see how brainwashed the BBC people have become by asking such stupid questions about Taiwan. The Ambassador should have asked her why did Margaret Thatcher protect the Falkland Islands?
Towards the end I could not stop laughing when the Ambassador was telling the US to shut up.
Brilliant interview.

Here is your classic, but extremely ignorant American.
India is about 50 years behind China.
Japan – read up on the Chinese fishing boat incident last month and you’ll see how powerful Japan stands compared to China.
Vietnam – 90% of Vietnamese are ethnic Chinese. Vietnam is still many years behind China.
Demographics – late last month the Chinese Government officially recognized that the one child policy was causing problems and will reverse it sometime this year. Its looks like 2 children will be the norm.
Dictatorship, a revolution will ruin them. What does that mean??????? A revolution would ruin the US.
The US is a legend in its own mind were its military is concerned. Why does it not bring North Korea under control if it’s so powerful or for that matter Iran? The amount of money squandered on the military complexes the US should have space ships and hand-held arms that firing lazer beams not bullets.
Your latest fighter aircraft Raptor 22:
“The Japanese government reportedly showed interest in buying F-22s in its Replacement-Fighter program….” If this occured, it would most likely involve a "watered-down" export variant…..”. This appeared recently in the media and is from Wikipeadia.
Translation: It’s a piece of crap that we have not come close to finishing and the Japanese are pressing us to sell to counteract China’s new generation of fighters. Oh yes we are to sell “a watered down” version. You see the reality does not come close to the BS or should I say marketing.
The United States of Windbags.
I like these armchair Americans; never travelled more than 10 kilometers from their place of residence and they think they know all about China. Perhaps you might start not buying Chinese products and just stick to the ones made in the US of A.

It's harsh to say that America and the West are falling; it's more that China and the rest of the world are catching up. For Serbia's sake, it's not safe to solidly side with one another, as they're no guarantee that China will be the world's next superpower, just like there is no guarantee that the US will always remain number 1.

But honestly, I don't even mind if the Chinese overtake us. As long as I can live peacefully with my family, keep my job and still live in a country with great living standards, then I'll be fine.

Does anyone recall China protesting when the US were testing the F22 & F35s?

The reaction of the US bully-boys, expressing 'concern' over a nation with which it outspends on the military by a factor of 10. The brass neck they have never ceases to amaze me.

Wake up big mac boys.Your mighty army has been bogged down in Afganistan for the last 10 years and hiding in their concrete bunkers. You're not telling us that you'll be a match for a country that
flies stealth fighters and shoots down satellites in space.

I'm backing China in the mid to long term.

China is growing while the US and the West are shrinking. The charts and figures speak for themselves.

"China, with its 1.33 billion people, cheap and hard-working labour force will soon surpass the West in terms of technology and military capability."

The rumors of the West's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Here are China's problems:
1. INDIA + Japan + Vietnam...
2. Demographics, 1 child policy = OLD people
3. Dictatorship, a revolution will ruin them

that's enough for now. If everything goes fine, USA will have absolute supremacy until 2030 in the air and forget about the Navy. US is larger than all the rest of the world's navy combined. China is great at copying technology, that's all.
