Azeris aren't arabs, they're an iranian people, which is a completely different thing. I'm with the Armenians on this one, however - an extraordinary little nation and one worth preserving.

This is closer, but probably still not 100% correct. There weren't any "Azeris" before 1917, it's an artificial creation of later times. Azeri language is very close to Turkish

They aren't Iranians, you confused that there is Azeri minority in Iran.

Before 1917 they were considered just "Turkoman" people.

I am clearly on the Armenian side for many reasons, the main one is the Turkish genocide and of course that Armenians (as well of Georgians) are traditionally Russian allies - even if certain modern Georgian politicians lost their brain and implanted their tongue between the gluteus maximus cheeks of Uncle Sam.

Does Serbia support the orthodox brothers of Armenia or the muslim arabs of Azerbaijan?
(Mark, 13 January 2011 18:35)

Serbia would rather support Armenians, I guess. For sure no one on Planet Earth supports "muslim arabs of Azerbaijan": they are as numerous, as Buddhist Eskimos of Nigeria. You can guess, why.
