Actually one thing it showed is that US is pretty smart and OPEN. More honest than I thought

Surely the US are not OPEN, but most of the files reveal good analyses of the situations and politians in a lot of countries. Somehow strange that everyone wants to avoid the truth, and prefer to hide behind a most of diplomacy and nice words. But, there's a proverb: 'Truth hurts'

Jonsdottir said, Do they realize I am a member of parliament in Iceland?"

And? Who cares, is that supposed to scare the USA. USA will do what it can to protect its butt and why shouldn't they. Is someone going to stop them? No!

The US has declared Assange public enemy number one because he exposes the true nature of the American empire which is build on lies.

Hence, wikileaks is revolutionary in that sense because it strikes at the heart of American power, which will be remembered by historians as the the imperial system in which the divorce between moral and legal rhetoric on the one hand and immoral, predatory and frequently criminally insane action on the other was never so great.

The US is desperate to get Assange & Co and they will try every dirty trick on their book. The freedom of the world is at stake.
