As pointed out, often is the case to import low grade steel or non/low machined steel and export as high quality specialized products such as pipes (for pipelines), sheet, cable and other steels used in car and other industries. It is not complicated at all.

"What? How can iron and steel be a main export as well as an import? "

Why should this be a problem? There are many different types and qualities of steel and iron, and it seems like Serbia is importing some and exporting others. It's a good sign, compared to other countries which only export their natural resources and not much else.

Idk why my leaders chose to stay in a non-functioning group who Serbia blocks our products and forces BiH to do the same.

Kosovo should influence Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro to withdraw out of this joke circle. Serbia owes hundreds of millions of EURs by voiding the CEFTA contract and we should not be apart of a group with little children in it.

What? How can iron and steel be a main export as well as an import?

Let's say the price of steel is:

Hungary: $99
Serbia: $100
Macedonia: $105

Serbia can buy the product at cheaper rate via Hungary and sell it's own supply to Macedonia at a more expensive rate. Macedonia can't do this because buying directly from Hungary will be more expensive through all the taxes when that shipment crosses all the borders.

Makes sense to me.

In anycase this is great news. CEFTA is one of the few organizations Serbia actually benefits from.
