For the 100.000 fishes died previous week in Arkansas I'm still not sure but for the birds I am:
Fireworks scared and lifted the birds to the sky. Especially in the night birds usually stick together while flying.
Than the lightning hit - anywhere..
The most tragic is that, i believe, birds were alive while shocked and felling toward the ground.
Geometric shape (formed by dead birds) of 2000m x 800m about is actually the shock lightning range along the route. On one of the two ends of that shape, possible another kilometer or few, it would be a place where lightning hit some object, tree or whatever.

The kos (same in Czech, BTW) is a member of the thrush family, like the American robin. (So it should probably be "The Battle of Black [American] Robin Field" in translation, since the American and the British robins are not related. The British robin has recently been reclassified as a member of the sparrow group, like the red-winged blackbird - it's more obvious in the female: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-winged_Blackbird/id). So this is probably not a political statement, just a warning sign of the approach of the End of Days - are you ready for 2012? I thought the election of Tea-Party Republicans to Congress was enough of a warning, myself.
No! This whole blackbird story is Goebbels-like propaganda by an anti-avian network, with the only goal to damage the reputation of those freedom-loving blackbids. But it's not only against blackbirds in Arkansas, but against all blackbirds, and against parrots, too, all over the world. This story is a big lie! It can never have happened, because it takes a lot to make birds fall from the sky. Btw, there have been many investigations, and nothing has been found ;-)
