The same thing - read the Prishtina papers. For example, today's Express: "On December 23, 2010, a EULEX prosecutor from the Kosovo Special Prosecutor's Office charged three persons with criminal drug trafficking and organized crime ..."

Peggy don´t be so unfair, they are giving their best to become a drug free society, they export drugs as much as possible.

It is not their foult that now they get even more heroin from "liberated" Afganistan then before.

"Narco mafia and the government.

This is Serbia, this is the black hole."
(KOSO, 31 December 2010 18:29)

Yes, nobody can deny it, in Serbia, there's narco mafia AND the government.
While in the independent dream state of Kosovo, these two things are the same and are operated by the very same people.

Dirty money should be restricted from finding its way into the economy. No large purchase (e.g., more than 10000 euros) should be made with money that has not been through legitimate bank accounts. Even then money-laundering is a problem.

For very large amounts, the solution is for the state to put the burden of proof that the money is clean on the person spending the money. In the cases where there is doubt, the money can be held until there is an accounting and a resolution.

Making the system hard for crooks to reinvest their gains is an important part of preventing organised crime.

I would also like to see more politicians imprisoned for corruption and partiality - in particular for the practice of giving jobs to their friends. This is corrupt - and too common. It represents the beginning of corrupt thinking, but as I understand it, it is considered normal practice for all the political parties to reward their own cronies. This feeds the whole culture of 'connections' and continues the poisoning of society.

There is still a culture of corruption that survived the Milosevic era that still gives problems for ordinary people. That culture needs to be seen as being totally unacceptable and needs to be much more proactively policed and penalised.

That's almost as bad as blood and organ harvesting money.

Face the truth for crying out loud!!

WOW "News Flash" - Serbia, Money Washing and Narcotics!!!??? How could that be!!?!! Surprise, Surprise... And ordinary folks in Serbia tend to blame Kosovars for such a 'lucrative business'!!! Serbian politicians and their medias have always fed lies to their own people regarding many things (everyone is aware of that), but as long as you replace the word 'serbia' with 'kosova' in regards to drugs and other things,
Serbs are content with it. How ironic!!!

Wake up and smell the drugs folks.

It is very important to thoroughly investigate and then prosecute these cases. The guilty should be jailed and fined. Any assets they have should be confiscated as payment for damages and ruination of the companies - especially if it is found that there were violations in the contracts.
With the money perhaps a few of those companies can be restarted. The state can re-own them for awhile until they are back on their feet and then do legal privatization with non-criminals.
