Kosovo is going to be ugly. There is no doubt the Serb majority areas along the bderor will declare sovereignty from the Kosovers & re-join Greater Serbia.Kosovo can't morally stop them - same logic as they used to get out of Serbia, but Kosovo will use force to try and they will get their Euro Peacekeeper allies to intervene with military forces. The Russians may use this is their first opportunity to get re-engaged again in European affairs, just for the hell of it.

Peter Hodge

But that is exactly what the intention is. To undermine the validity of Kosovas independence. That countries that have to date can't see what is going on suggests to me they may be having pressure placed on them from outside sources.

SHAME on those countries who recognized this Kosovo UDI and you installed a "MONSTER" to govern this province.

One day Serbian troops will again set foot on kosovo province soil in the future.

Since the US opens it mouth on every issue on this planet my guess is that it is concerned about its image. If it’s a first world power why has it not subdued Iran or North Korea?????????????
This is the part you seem not to get – who cares whether you have proof. You fight fire with fire; you throw enough mud at the opponent and some of it sticks; the US uses this method very often so why should Serbs be afraid to do the same?
You pose the Grouch Marx question “have you stopped beating your wife” and you let your opponent try and extricate himself from the situation.
“The smart thing to do is to say these are serious allegations that need to be investigated, where is the proof?" This way the US is not saying lets shove this under the rug …….”
That’s called trying to buy time.
“You must tell us someday how you gather all your top secret info.”
Surely you must watch some of the more serious topics covered by your US media. They do have panel discussions from time to time on various world topics to say they have “a free press”. I don’t know where you people live or what you do for a living, but media and information is my means of making a living. This is just a past time for me.
Actually on one occasion you had Robert Baer, ex CIA, discussing the Middle East, his area of expertise, and he sidelined onto the Balkans and he said that the various secret services were well aware of the going on and who supplied the Albanians with what and how much arms and equipment. In fact he went on to say “the US lost more than one stealth aircraft over Serbia and after that they were only used as a backdrop for media interviews”.
Now as far as the finance industry is concerned, I’d love to give you names and positions they hold but I can’t because these people could get fired – they are my friends so take it or leave it. However, since I started posting on B92 in late 2009, tell me what have I told that was a lie?
I have been to the Balkans many time so I know the situation there. I know the problems Serbia faces and I have NEVER said anything to the contrary, but what I did say is that it has the most potential of all the other former Yugo states and that’s a fact even recognized by the World Bank and IMF.
As I have said 40 million people live off food stamps - this comes from US media. About 80 million Americans only have one meal per day – US media. The fact that 100 million Americans are affected to various degrees by the GFC – US media. US media have shown people living in tent cities throughout the western states and disused drainage channels in Los Vegas. The central states, Mississippi River are basket cases. The Lakes states are worse – all of this comes from US media. Here is simplest test of US economic conditions – The Australian dollar is $1.01 US – it was 52 cents 7 years ago.
You might live a normal life but there are millions of Americans that do not.
I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and have been to more countries than you can imagine, including Tirana, Albania, so I have a better perspective of world politics than most people. I have seen the US approach to others that don’t see things their way so I’m certainly no friend of theirs. I don’t hate Albanians I just don’t like what has happened to Serbia.

Amazing, someone finds a commentary in a publication and thinks that it represents the "world".
If one thinks that since a country recognized Kosovo, should recognze Palastine, the same should be true that all countries recognizing Palastine should recognize Kosovo.
The Palastine situation cannot be the same as Kosovo while at the same time the Kosovo situation is the different from Palastine.
So are you saying the countries recognizing Palastine and not Kosovo are hypocritical??

sj,
but the US has a world image to maintain and they do not view the world as the ordinary citizen. So they have to take a stance otherwise the longer there is silence the more guilty they appear –it’s all to do with perception.
I am surprised, I thought in your mind the US had become a third world power with no influence left!
The smart thing to do is to say these are serious allegations that need to be investigated, where is the proof?" This way the US is not saying lets shove this under the rug (then you would be yelling "cover-up") nor to say this is impossible (then you would say "what are they hiding?"), nor say this did not happen as there has never been an official US investigation into the matter.
There would be nothing the US could say that would appease you, as you have already revealed that you know for a "fact" the secret services of the US and EU knew about this all along.
You must tell us someday how you gather all your top secret info.
I would be very interested where an official from any of these organizations have verified this.
As far as the US financial situation believe what you wish but I have been to the balkans and there is no comparison to the living standards of the ordinary citizen.
As far as your not being born in the balkans or live there, I have to wonder why someone exposed to life outside of the balkans still retain the level of ethnic hatred you still express?

You look at it from a parochial stance i.e “I did not use my credit card”, but the US has a world image to maintain and they do not view the world as the ordinary citizen. So they have to take a stance otherwise the longer there is silence the more guilty they appear –it’s all to do with perception. However, looking at their last statement they seem to have taken a “stand back and wait” position as if it’s not their problem or washing their hands of the situation. Time will tell how it all evolves.
Now as to your poverty in the US. The 40 million is a figure quoted by a New York Times journalist during an interview on NBC’’s evening program two days ago –[ as I live in a different time zone I saw it replayed the next morning. She repeated it not once or twice but 4 times. It gets worse; three years ago the US Agriculture Department issued a statement that about 60 million Americans can only afford one meal per day; that figure has risen now to 80 million. In total about 1/3 of the US population is suffering to various degrees from this “recession” or near 100 million people. This comes from your media not my imagination.
Latest information is that the price of houses in the US has fallen again; in the northern states i.e. Chicago there is “short selling” of expensive homes i.e. anywhere between 30% and 40% of the real value – these are not three bedrooms homes with a garage. The only glimmer is California where the prices have stabilized and there is a slight increase, but that’s only because they have not built new houses for as long time. I could go on and on but B92c has a limit.
You have never set foot in Asia so how do you know life is better in the US? Maybe you should ask some of your expatriates who live and working in China. There are a very large number, but maybe the lovers of a free press don’t like to tell that story.
In regard to proof. I don’t know what Serbia has in mind but if it was up to me I would release only snippets of information to keep the pot boiling as long as possible then pour the some of the contents over their head for dramatic effect. People never tire of this stuff especially if you keep coming up with newly found information and keep the opposition busy defending these claims.
Evidence can be 100 years old and still valid but it all depends on how you present it.
I was not born in the Balkans nor do I live there.

No prosecutor has gathered any evidence, it is not even to that stage. but someone has to come up with credible evidence to get to that stage and no one has.
(duh, 29 December 2010 18:06)

I do know it’s not at that stage yet. That wasn’t my point. Smart investigators takes time, make sure all the pieces to the puzzle are in the right place. Then they make their move. But since you mention evidence and that no one has any. Why do you guys keep asking for the evidence? I think some of you including Thuci are having major anxiety attacks. I don’t think officials investigating these crimes are amateurs. In time due you will be surprised what evidence will surface.

pss

pre 13 godina

Yes they do have to deny them as they are the prime sponsors of a “free Kosovo”. It reflects badly on them and one could even go further and say they are implicated in this entire affair either as a direct party to these activities or they knew about the crime and remained silent or covered it up. Or perhaps the 40 million US citizens living in abject poverty is occupying their minds, eh?
Don’t worry proof will forthcoming in late January 2011. Don’t be impatient.
(sj, 29 December 2010 15:05)
You say the US is remaining silent, I say they don't need to deny it, you say yes they do??? Do you know what to say?
As far as the 40 million in poverty, I would say that at least half of those are living better than you. You can paint the picture as bleak as you want for others, I am living here.
It is "hard" times, but not as hard as I have seen them in my lifetime and certainly not as hard as times past.( I had a wonderful Christmas with my family and none of it on credit.)
And definitely not as hard as any where in the balkans. Finances in China may be better than the US but the quality of life would not even compare.
If the proof were coming in January it would have been here in December. Old Marty's report is complete, the debate to take place in January will only be what to do with what he said, not the offering of new evidence. Any evidence that will be presented after today will not be for 4-5 years maybe 10 and then it will be the same "inconclusive". People (nonSErbs) will tire of the whole matter by then.

" How many Serbs are talking about the sorry state of affairs of Serbia these days? Very few! Why?" (metrod)

-- Really? Every Serb I know constantly laments about the state of affairs in their country. Most people in Serbia, like most people in Albania or elsewhere, care only for what's in front of them. The pan-ethnic solidarity seems to have the most strength on forums like this from people who already purchased a one-way ticket out of the region and set up shop elsewhere.

"First there was UDI.
Serbs predicted it wasn't going to get backed by world superpowers.
WRONG!"

-- To date, Russia, China, India, and Brazil are some of the "powers" that don't recognize it and won't. What about Thaci's prediction of 100 recognitions in 48 hours of UDI? Hell, what about Skender Hyseni's prediction of dozens of recognitions after ICJ? And what has the US brought you other than a recognition?

"Then, there was ICJ.
Serbs were WRONG again!"

-- Yes, but with only 3 recognitions from three meaningless countries, I'd rather lose the case and be vincated by global inaction than win the case and be embarrased by global indifference and a continued need to lobby for support.

"Then came UNGA.
Serbs were proven WRONG again!"

-- The resolution ended up being a joint Serbian-EU resolution that was unanimously passed to avoid the US having to dirty itself lobbying for its blocking, and called for the restart of talks. Don't know what you're bragging about here.

"Now, this nonsense.
They will be proven WRONG again!"

-- So you'd like. Since the story isn't going away and has finally made it to official EU channels and even the US is calling for a full inquiry, I doubt this is all just anti-Albanian racism or whatever it is you want to call it.

"What will be next????"

-- Don't know, but at this point Kosovo can't afford to be "right" that much longer.

The US needs not "deny" the allegations. All they have to do is say they are serious ones, where is the proof?
As you can see the fable is losing steam, due to lack of any credible evidence. Marty repeating what del Ponte said and then hundreds of Serbian politicians taking the stage and saying the same thing gets attention for a little while but eventually everyone wants to see the proof.

I listen to an interview from London the other night involving an Albanian and it was very interesting to find out that the Albos were expecting the west to open factories in Kosovo soon after the invasion and in this man’s words “pave the streets of Kosovo in gold”.
He said that after 12 years we now have misery and poverty that would rival parts of Africa and a poll asked the Kosovo Albanians whether there was nostalgia for the old Yugoslavia. He said that 85% were in favor of the old Yugoslavia and that Kosovo has no chance of surviving as it stands without outside money. It was also interesting that 90% said they would leave tomorrow if give half the chance.

(Zoran, 28 December 2010 20:27)

That's true, but your reputation was well proven and well deserved. The crimes of Serbs - not only in Kosovo - shocked the hell out of every civlized country on earth.

Even to this day Belgrade is accusing their own police and security forces for mass murder and crimes against civilians, almost all the accused were convicted. Charges mounting from war crimes, to mass murder. And for KLA not only the extent of the crimes they are accused is by far lesser but they at this point they remain just allegations, bad mouthing of a anti-American freak from Switzerland with a strong and established anti K-independence past.

Even if proven true, you still have no comparison. The organ trade if true was an action of thugs who took advantage of great sufferings this war brought upon people, by far not what K-Alb had in mind as proven very clearly by history, the quest for independece was a long and noble cause of K-Alb to break free But you are right it ill hurt the Independence cause for a while. I guess we waited 100 yrs for this day, we can wait another 100 to complete this task. You are making the same mistake again and underestimating our resolve.

But instead, he choose to humiliate Kosova by putting the organ harvesting ,as the main theme of his "findings".Every human being with IQ more than 80,will see the lies and deformations from serb witneses,as I can see here in the news, where prison 320 according to these witnesses was located in Burrel(not in Tirana) or 1999 Albania president name and other lies.

Well I mean since 2009, the USA could only get meaningless pacific island "countries" that you cannot locate on a map to recognize its retard child called "Republic of Kosova".

So I mean if you cannot get meaninful recognitions before, and not even after you spun the ICJ ruiling in your favor, then good luck now.

They'll use THIS as an excuse. But really the recognitions were completed way before this report came out. This was just the icing on the cake.

This project has reached its ceiling. Pretty sad too, you have puppets in Belgrade, support by the nations who are on top for the next little remaining years.

Nobody else was going to recognise this monstrosity.
They have to have some reason besides the truth.

Stop blaming Serbia for your inadequacies. If the world wanted to recognise you they would have as Serbia is a small country (as many of you point out) and does not have any power.
Again, Dick Marty has an excellent reputation. Why on earth would he ruin all that just to bug you?

The issue of recognitions has been dead for some time already with major world powers having rejected "Kosova" and thus irreversibly blocking independence.

As for Marty's report, well, while KiM Albanians are screaming and shouting for evidence they don't seem to realise the damage is already done. We Serbians lived though these types of accusations for decades but it seems the table has finally turned. Some people don't seem to like the taste of their own medicine. Too bad.

Bad for Kosovo!!! How much worse could it be? Kosovo got just a couple of recognitions this year. And America is running out of countries to bribe. The only thing that remains to be done is for Thaci to threaten countries that won't recognize. Parhaps he should also publish the names of all those heads of state who refuse to recognize the "dependent banana republic of Kosova". Long live the Serbian nation and Serbian Kosovo!

@Top!
If he would wanted to help Kosova and its people from Thaci,he easely would have mentioned corruption and the main theme of his report.I am pretty sure more albanians will be on his side.
But,the truth will come up soon and Marty as I predicetd will hide after his immunity, as he said few days ago.Unfortunately he is "untouchable".

We (Kosova) have been under Serbian occupation for more than 85 years, now we are free since 1999.If will take 5-10, more years than we predicted, for the recognisions we can wait.Serbs are out of Kosova and we are running the state.

And definitely not as hard as any where in the balkans. Finances in China may be better than the US but the quality of life would not even compare.
If the proof were coming in January it would have been here in December. Old Marty's report is complete, the debate to take place in January will only be what to do with what he said, not the offering of new evidence. Of course Serbia media will still be able to print their stories learned from anonymous sources

FM,Vlora Citaku is right!
But I think that this was the purpose of Marty's report. It was not to help Kosova,as he and serbian commentators here like Top,but to hurt people and the Republic of Kosova.
@Top!
If he would wanted to help Kosova and its people from Thaci,he easely would have mentioned corruption and the main theme of his report.I am pretty sure more albanians will be on his side.

It is in Serb interest to talk with Albanians and Marty's report will not going to help them as they hoped.

-- It's crap like this that gives both Serbia and Dick away. If you want to accuse Albanians through your secret services, the least you can do is learn how to spell their names. If your alphabet is based on latin letters, it is very hard to wrongly spell a 5 letter last name if you've seen it once or twice. If you're a Serb maybe it is not so hard. Just read a B92 article, and 99.99% of the names of Albanians are spelled wrong. Get your act together.
