"I made promises so Tadić could win"

Mlađan Dinkić says Boris Tadić won his second term in office as Serbia's president "partly thanks to the promises Dinkić made".

This is a good indication that the DS led government will fall soon, Dinkic always jumps ship before it sinks, this will be numero 3 for those not keeping track of the little bugger.

Get ready for the sudden change in relations between Dinkic and Nikolic.

"But to be honest I'm not sure that admitting that his biggest and most well known promise was a lie is going to help his political future."

The Serb voters repeatedly fall for these false promises and projections. Instead of measuring people by their actions they go for empty words and repeatedly start believing them around election time. This also goes for the EU's false promises.

On the positive side at least he admitted lying through his teeth, or being gentle, fooling himself into believing that this was true.

However, almost all the economic experts at the time doubted that sum, as did anybody with an ounce of sense.

But to be honest I'm not sure that admitting that his biggest and most well known promise was a lie is going to help his political future.

Still, it could be fun to speculate as to whether if the radicals got in then they would have lowered the price of bread to 5 dinars. Perhaps there is an opening there for collaboration between G17 and SRS...

Yes, this government appealed to the greed in people and won by deceit, external meddling and broken promises. Lets hope the Serbian people do not get fooled like this again.
