If Serbs of so called 'republika srpska' can create a republic by killing their neighbors why can't Sandzak be a republic, too?

Only Serbs have a godgiven right to self-rule. Everyone else MUST live under them.

I did not know, there is a Zulu minority in Novi Pazar. I did see so far nearly everybody there was a Serb, either religious or not and they spoke "ekavian" to my ear. Or did you learn the language from "Ceca" Ražnatović? Not the best source even if she's ekavian. I was shocked at your taste, but you know it better...

Thanks iliri for an interesting post. not totally in agreement w/ all of it ("towel heads"; turbo folk -- after all, what would we do w/out dear ceca's Kukavica??), but yr latter section hit some familiar chords.

i have a gd frnd in pazar, which has been a nice excuse to visit there: favorite restaurant, favorite underwear (sold on the streets), ice cream, etc.

anyway, he was an x-change high school student in the early 2000s, in a small town in texas of all places! they were 'sposed to understand that 1 -- he was from serbia (just after milosevic!); 2 -- that he was muslim, and 3 -- that he was incredibly bright and "normal." so, anyone know where the balkans is? all the kids stared ahead clueless (he reported to us later) but this one girl spoke up: Oh, i know where it is--it's in the middle east, and all you people ever do is kill each other...

then he related to us about what it was like to grow up in pazar (as a non serb)in the early 90s, how they were surrounded by slobo's tanks for "protection"; how they were slated to be the next target of ethnic cleansing...

anyway, a short trip down memory lane. thanks for the posting, iliri. seems like our beloved balkans is determined to keep up its infamous reputation, at least certain parts...

Also, that one on acoustic pollution was a good one. You get an up-vote just because of that. Also to be noted is the fact that whether one is wearing a towel or any other piece of clothing on the head; the difference is that they're just two different hat styles. In this case the Serb guy wears a black hat; the other dude a white hat. Every religion has different hat styles. Supposedly that makes you holy and gives you authority over the rest of us non-hat wearing commoners or commoners who can't get hold of those ridiculous hats.

The rise and downfall of comrade Zulo ! ...despite of being Albanian, i don't like the events in Sandjak, afterall, Sandjak is a slavic problem, and slavic problem is an advantage for Albanians...but it is pretty ironic the fact that both parties (wether serbs or bosniaks) are politically influenced by the long bearded towel head ''politicans'' ...Zulo is no different from Artemije and Janullatos, although here in Albania, situation is different, religious leaders [especially janullatos] try to stay as silent as possible, as they are trying to avoid peoble from picking up pneumatic hammers ...with the new CAT and IVECO machines job is much easier than it was back in 1960s...yet i would not agree with destroying noisy buildings, if i were a serb (or bosniak), i would prefer listing to ring bells and prayer calls rather than turbofolk, although both acoustically pollute the environment as much ... still people get bored, and need to make noise, go out in protests, blame someone, or some group for their problems, serbs blame muslims, muslims blame serbs, albanians blame slavs in general...but Dragam, you are missing the point, problems do not just pop up out of nothing. For every action there is a reaction, and for every reaction there is a counter reaction...but in balkans the cycle goes one beyond laws of physics, once events gain momentum, it impossible to go back to its initial positions, becasue, like that song that she sang in eurovision ''ovo je balkan''...i hope that slavs do not mess things up once again, because, we , albanians, happen to be in balkans as well, i m fed up witth foreign people asking me ''former yugoslavia?'', ''balkans?'' when i say i m from Albania. The CIA has activated one of their men in Serbia to create a distraction from the Kosovo mess (from the CIA point of view) created by the KLA organ tracking fall out. It is the CIA's goal to detach more of Southern Serbia and add it to "Kosovo". Fortunately "Kosova" has entered a terminal state of collapse and I am waiting for WikiLeaks to put the final nail in the coffin and for all those KLA and NATO war criminal to go where they belong.

Zuko has a tendency of upping the rhetoric whenever he's not getting enough attention. I must have missed the events in Raska/Sandzak over the last few days/weeks when the situation deteriorated to the point of comparing it with Kosovo - which, given the current circumstances is probably not the best time to be making moral comparisons with.

(Agim Kelmendi, 19 December 2010 14:54)

I see what you mean but Kosovo and Metohija is the worst case. They are even poorer than the poorest region in rest of the Serbia but it's not the Serbian fault but of Kosovo-Albanian greedy and corrupted leaders.

Anyway Serbia is not poor country in resources but wrong people without no vision are in power. They are led by their greed. No country in southeastern Europe and broad in entire post socialistic Eastern Europe is prone to inefficient and incapable corrupted governments so nor Serbia is.
Mufti Zukorlic is byproduct of that situation.

Mikael C

pre 13 godina

Zukorlic is seeing his chance to threaten Serbs due to the fact that Republika Srpska is heading for independence. This is nothing more then a poor attempt to prevent RS to become independent. Perhaps he thinks that if RS can go then Sandzak can go. However, Sandak has more Serbs then muslims living there so he can keep on dreaming. What's even worse is that no media in the world has written or supported the Sandzak muslims. So, Zukorlic, you are talking to deaf ears.

Minorities are fully welcome in Serbia, with equal rights and opportunities provided to those with Orthodox Serb heritage. Instead of people being satisfied with the opportunity to work hard (because it IS there for them, just like everyone else who's a citizen of the Republic), they go ahead and unnecessarily create problems, when there's no need for one! Why not love the country they live in and MAKE it better, if it isn't good enough for them? If they don't like what Belgrade's doing (pfft), who's stopping from moving to BiH?

Minority rights is a flawed concept; there should be equal rights and opportunities for all. Minority rights is just an excuse to get an upper-hand and more political leverage, and should be frowned upon ferociously.

Muamer Zukorlić says "Everything is the same as Milošević did in Kosovo,”. This is not true and it's an insult to Kosovo. Bosniak Community is not being mowed down with machine guns and physically and forcefully relocated to Bosnia on trains.
Mr. Zukorlić, I was in Kosovo during that time and let me tell you: Sandžak is no Kosovo.

This guy is a nobody. It's media outlets like B92 that are making him into something. Regardless, he has absolutely 0% chance of succeeding. The Bosnian Muslims in Sandzak are divided themselves.

--we , albanians, happen to be in balkans as well, i m fed up with foreign people asking me ''former yugoslavia?'', ''balkans?'' when i say i m from Albania. Thanks to slavs, both Yugoslavija, and Balkans have gained similar connotations to Iraq, Afghanistan and Sierra Leone... (iliri)

Thanks iliri for an interesting post. not totally in agreement w/ all of it ("towel heads"; turbo folk -- after all, what would we do w/out dear ceca's Kukavica??), but yr latter section hit some familiar chords.

i have a gd frnd in pazar, which has been a nice excuse to visit there: favorite restaurant, favorite underwear (sold on the streets), ice cream, etc.

anyway, he was an x-change high school student in the early 2000s, in a small town in texas of all places! they were 'sposed to understand that 1 -- he was from serbia (just after milosevic!); 2 -- that he was muslim, and 3 -- that he was incredibly bright and "normal." so, anyone know where the balkans is? all the kids stared ahead clueless (he reported to us later) but this one girl spoke up: Oh, i know where it is--it's in the middle east, and all you people ever do is kill each other...

then he related to us about what it was like to grow up in pazar (as a non serb)in the early 90s, how they were surrounded by slobo's tanks for "protection"; how they were slated to be the next target of ethnic cleansing...

anyway, a short trip down memory lane. thanks for the posting, iliri. seems like our beloved balkans is determined to keep up its infamous reputation, at least certain parts...

царство ему небесное - NOT. Zukorlic is a horrible man, Holbrooke is waiting for him near a cozy campfire.

''Blinded by a religion bent on domination that always fails, Zulo is creating chaos out of nothing, in hopes of aspiring to create some quasi-religion-based region. Stop perverting your religion and leave politics to others Zulo, you will fail now, in the future and forever.
(Dragam, Toronto, 19 December 2010 18:04) ''

Thanks to slavs, both Yugoslavija, and Balkans have gained similar connotations to Iraq, Afghanistan and Sierra Leone...

Only Serbs have a godgiven right to self-rule. Everyone else MUST live under them.

-- Actually physics explains this very well. In the Balkans the heads of the leaders are composed of total vacuum.

Ivan, are you calling for another war? Are you wishing for the Serbs to be ethniclly cleansed and killed from Sandzak? You are wishing for an endless cycle. Why do you only refer to Serbian ethnic cleansing? Yes Serbs did cleanse RS, but Croatia cleansed Serbs in Croatia, but you ignore that. There are examples throughout the world.

Its a viscous cycle that needs to stop. No more ethnic cleanseing like you are wishing for! Time for peace!!
