So basically our cheap cheese goes to you, but we are forced to buy the German which is much worse.
It's not a big deal of course, just an example how we are forced to buy import crap.

Well, here in the US where I'm at, there's plenty of Albanian stores. We get Bulgarian feta which is very good and quite cheap. The Greek feta is very expensive and it tastes the same. I don't know how the Bulgarians are undercutting the Greeks. Either that or hit the Italian stores. Their imported food is also cheaper than the Greek imported food. I don't know what part of the logistics is causing this.

Doesn't seem that democratic to me. He had no challenger at all.

100%. There was NO democratic procedure regarding EU. People were kept in dark.
My lame excuse: at the time it happened, I was living in the U.S.
And I was one of the (silent) fanboys of EU.

After moving - the only positive is the nice home I inherited and that the college for the kids is free. The rest is a total rip-off.

BTW - the Hungarian feta you can buy in Emona in Vushtrri DOES NOT EXIST in Hungary!
Instead, we import German feta, much more expensive. Or Greek. At least, Greek is good. But the price is extremely high. This is a very little example, but every time I enter Emona I want to go ballistic.

Next time if you read in Koha Ditore "Russians run amok in Vushtrri" - that's me, because of the cheese. But listen to Mircea... OK, I think you are in the States hopefully - so that does not apply to you.

Every time I read Mircea's "fanboying" about EU I want to show him that cheese. Probably he will open a grocery store at the end.

What EU path?

Serbia WAKE UP !!! The Serbian people are the only ones can solve Serbia's problems, NOT the EU. Make the stance and be heard.

Montenegro obtained EU candidate status on 17 December.

Congratulations to Montenegro!

The EU candidate countries are:

1 Croatia
2. Montenegro
3. Macedonia
4. Iceland
5. Turkey

The potential EU candidate countries are:

1. Serbia
2. Bosnia
3. Albania
(Mircea EU citizen, 18 December 2010 16:35)

Serbia is one step closer to EU. On 17 December Serbia raised the sales tax (VAT) for fruit and computers from 8% to 18%, like it is in other EU countries.

Congratulation to Serbia!

Thank you Mircea, my next vacation is Kolozsvár.
