Maybe it's all true and Thaci was involved -- I wouldn't be surprised. I've read about torture victims in BiH and Croatia whose ears were torn off, tongues ripped out, etc. Viewed in this context, what's to stop a war criminal from removing a different body part -- and for lots of profit?

First this is not the end of the match but the start. Well if you want to give pleasure to yourself that is something else which apparently many Serbs do.

Second I haven’t heard yet any news about Switzerland withdrawing Kosovo recognition. Neither any plan to do so soon. Or probably you know something more from Dick Marty!!!

This is why this report is nothing, for now everyone is ignoring EULEX that said the opposite, even B92. You need proof (EULEX and UN found NOTHING) not just a novel by Del Ponte. It might even do good for Kosovo, by removing the ruling class and clearing corruption.

Serbia is trying to gain points on the 'talks' but that's stupid, everything is already decided by USA, UK, Germany and France. Geopolitics don't change based on a baseless accusation, strategy might.

Wrong. The UN did find proof but according to Carla they destroyed it. I am just so very happy that they didn't manage to get rid of everything and Mr. Marty was clever enough to find more.

Heads will roll in high places because of this cover up. No doubt Carla will want to help as this only strengthens her credibility. She is not going to sit on the sidelines and only hope that enough comes out as she will be made to look very silly if this doesn't happen. She knows very well where the skeletons are buried.

In my view, it's hardly necessary to talk about only Kosovo, as the same regime (Milosevic) was broadly accused of driving one huge campaign against non-Serbs across Yugoslavia. You, I'm sure, think that there is no truth to any of that, and that's fine. You're hardly alone in thinking the Serbs to be "good guys". However, your viewpoint does nothing to change what the majority of the world believes (and you would surely deny the common worldview of Serb culpablility, too, and that's also fine).

If you'd prefer to strictly discuss Kosovo, I'm pretty certain we'd have no trouble tallying up as many or more Albanian civilians murdered at the hands of Serbs. And just because their organs weren't harvested doesn't make those atrocities any less evil.

Similarly, the fact that the victims slaughtered at Srebrenica were primarily men, some of whom possibly combatants, doesn't excuse the crime. I think you need to read up on the Geneva conventions. Again, not to get into numbers, but I think they've already found the remains of at least 5,000 or 6,000 men and boys. Whether 6,000 or 8,000, that's hugely atrocious.

But I'm sure I'm wasting my time here.

8000 Muslims (debatable and how many were combatants)? They say Muslim males but no females. Why? Could it be that the non combatants like females were put on buses and allowed to leave while the males who engaged in war were killed?

Second I haven’t heard yet any news about Switzerland withdrawing Kosovo recognition. Neither any plan to do so soon. Or probably you know something more from Dick Marty!!!

Third could you just tell us in which war has Switzerland participated and how the US would possibly ask for help from a country that has never seen war in last 2 centuries! Sorry man but Switzerland is not in the centre of the world even not geographically :)

How do you explain that it took so many years to come with facts?

All the fact were very well know by most of the states. A lot of report from the german, british, italian and grecs secret services and FBI were addressed to the respective ministry for foreign affairs on the criminal activities of Mr Thaci and his gang.
However the political option was choosen. What is today new, is that somebody published it.

Not to get into numbers, but 500 Kosovo Serbs compared to 8,000 Bosnian Muslims?
It's terrible what happened to these Serbs (assuming there is truth to all of this), but it's not like the Serbs were "good guys" in the Balkan conflicts.

The ball is rolling, have some patience, the truth will come out eventually. Court proceedings witll follow. And the times of the "hero" Thaci will be over.

Here is some news for you this is not the 1990s and the world is changing at a dramatic pace with the US no longer a real superpower, but a former shell of its former self. Let me put this to you; the Albanians had better negotiate within the framework that Serbia offers now and that is autonomy because in 2 years time there will be nothing on the table to offer them and they will take it.
If you think that NATO will help or perhaps the US. This is what children in the US answered when asked what present would they like for Christmas? Plain cloths not toys nor computer games.

The CIA and FBI have known for a long time what a monster Thaci and his gang are but these agencies do not set policy.As the Wikileaks cables reveal it is a very select few of politicians/diplomats/oppurtunists in the US government who dictate things and there are no greater oppurtunists/whores than the Clintons.The majority of Americans do not know or care where Kosovo or Serbia are and why should they?Lindsay Lohan and Brittney Spears are much more interesting soap operas to tune in to.

Why are you comparing apples with oranges?
8000 Muslims (debatable and how many were combatants)? They say Muslim males but no females. Why? Could it be that the non combatants like females were put on buses and allowed to leave while the males who engaged in war were killed?
Since when is it genocide to kill combatants?
Unlike Oric, who boasted about killing Serbs (civilians). How many thousands of Serbs perished in Bosnia and Croatia?
When you present numbers don't compare 500 Serbs who were butchered for their organs (nothing compares to this evil) and pretend there was no more Serbs who perished in Kosovo to Bosnian Muslims where also thousands of Serbs were killed.

Don't forget that non all non Serbs were killed by Serbs. How many Muslims killed their own and how many Muslims were killed by Croatians? How convenient to forget that.
When you present an argument, please make sure that were are talking about the same region at least.

But even if proven true, could such an atrocity evoke enough sympathy from the rest of the world that all the alleged Serbian crimes in the 90s wars would be dismissed?

No, if the crimes were all true and could be proven but the rest of the world will start to doubt everything they have read so far about what happened.
This is enough to gain public sympathy. Because they won't be able to believe what they were reading they will treat it as propaganda that it was and see who the bad and who the good guys were.

This is why this report is nothing, for now everyone is ignoring EULEX that said the opposite, even B92. You need proof (EULEX and UN found NOTHING) not just a novel by Del Ponte. It might even do good for Kosovo, by removing the ruling class and clearing corruption.

Wrong. The UN did find proof but according to Carla they destroyed it. I am just so very happy that they didn't manage to get rid of everything and Mr. Marty was clever enough to find more.

Heads will roll in high places because of this cover up. No doubt Carla will want to help as this only strengthens her credibility. She is not going to sit on the sidelines and only hope that enough comes out as she will be made to look very silly if this doesn't happen. She knows very well where the skeletons are buried.

I don't know about that Kosovo is being seen as Horror state. yes I do read about allegation but they are not stupid accusing something with out being proved by court of justice, where's are picture video recording's as Kosovo.Bosnia.and Croatia have it against Serbs and Serbia. those are proves even you don't have to talk those proves talk the story for themselves but I'm very confident we will here in January that allegation after carefully investigated it will drop and people don't forget OSCE,EULEX AND UN nation investigated that couldn't find nothing.

Marty has a very good reputation. He did not get that by spreading rumours. Think about it for a while.

SJ - talk to me when the Serbs actually have sovereignty over KiM again. Much would need to be reversed for that to happen and in my humble opinion, the pendulum has swung too far in the direction of independence. The weakening of America isn't going to be enough for Serbs to take Kosovo back. The best that can be hoped for is partition.

Who does nowadays cares about what he said about alleged CIA flights and detention facilities ? Nobody, perhaps because, even in 2006, he did not provide any evidence: all EU-States have denied his allegations and he was never able to prove anything. Only the fact that CIA didn't even considered it necessary to respond to him make it possible for its fairy tale to survive a few days...

And when all this mess is over (tomorrow or one day later), we'll all gather for Christmas and wish each other a Nice Year 2011.

In my view, it's hardly necessary to talk about only Kosovo, as the same regime (Milosevic) was broadly accused of driving one huge campaign against non-Serbs across Yugoslavia. You, I'm sure, think that there is no truth to any of that, and that's fine. You're hardly alone in thinking the Serbs to be "good guys". However, your viewpoint does nothing to change what the majority of the world believes (and you would surely deny the common worldview of Serb culpablility, too, and that's also fine).

If you'd prefer to strictly discuss Kosovo, I'm pretty certain we'd have no trouble tallying up as many or more Albanian civilians murdered at the hands of Serbs. And just because their organs weren't harvested doesn't make those atrocities any less evil.

Similarly, the fact that the victims slaughtered at Srebrenica were primarily men, some of whom possibly combatants, doesn't excuse the crime. I think you need to read up on the Geneva conventions. Again, not to get into numbers, but I think they've already found the remains of at least 5,000 or 6,000 men and boys. Whether 6,000 or 8,000, that's hugely atrocious.

But I'm sure I'm wasting my time here.
