Technically. It can't be a civil war either, it would have been a civil war if and only if civil serbs and civil albanians grabed guns and attcked each other and the yugoslavian army and police stayed neutral, but the jugoslav army took sides, and it sides with serbs the vvery first moment it started attacking anyhting albanian. It was systematic ethnic-turbo-cleansing.

Yeah, right a ''conflict''...it was a full scale war, more than 30 countries took part...and the war resulting in Kosovo secceding from Serbia, was WAR. By your international principles, the Balkan wars never happened...it was a ''conflict''.

The standards of Journalism that B92 engages in must be raised to the minimum level acceptable in the West if it expects to be taken seriously.

Well, you are welcome to move to an Albanian news site and be happy in the knowledge that you are getting the best quality reporting, equal to any in the west.
Mind you, the west is no better than anyone else.

B92 is a credible news site. If you feel it is not then take yourself somewhere else and stop trying to shoot the messenger.

Actually the war strated far before july 1998, if i remeber it correctly, the shelling of prekaz and the massacres of drenica happened in march or even before in february...

Let's wait and see what the evidence and the crime is before jumping the gun.

winston,
can you for a day take a break from your conspiracy theories? You must really believe that the WEST/USA/EU etc etc controls every little thing in the world.

This is all wrong. Surely these so-called civilians threw themselves menacingly against these poor suffering kosovo albanians who just happened to be holding weapons! It's the same idea as staircases being the main factor in why people get pushed down them. No staircases, no people falling down them. Logical, no?!

Indeed, why now? Why has special protection been (apparently) dropped?

If B92 wishes to engage in speculation, then it is incumbent on this illustrious media outlet to, at the very least, name the accused rather than attempt to insult the intelligence of its readers. The standards of Journalism that B92 engages in must be raised to the minimum level acceptable in the West if it expects to be taken seriously.

The tide has turned in KiM. Albanians are being exposed for their war crimes, noteably the organ-harvesting by the KLA, and the truth is surfacing. Maybe the EU is trying to tell Pristina something before the negotiations with Belgrade?
