A number of observations are correct though - Tadic is timid and indecisive, and probably exaggerates the indecisiveness to deflect demands from western officials.
(bganon, 9 December 2010)

Can you really blame the guy? Look what you guys did to Djindic, who wasn't as "timid and indecisive" as Tadic.

For once I agree with you with a slight but important difference, am looking at wikileak (actually got addicted to it) in research of informations disclosing/confirming all these lies, dirty games, blackmail, pressure of all kinds performed but all sort of governements including the one called "distributor of democracy", whereas I have the feeling that you are addicted, obsessed to find anything negative on Serbia that will fill your boring hatry for the Serbian nation.

Yes, indeed, no surprise that Kostunica and co had no wishes to arrest Mladic, but the reason why remains to be found out and there a few theories emerging!
I equally have a question as to why he was not arrested at the end of 90! Why?
I just recall one of my very good diplomat friend active in the region expressing his frustration as to why he wasn't arrested earlier when he was openly moving in front of the NATO troops and this AFTER the indictment was already issued.

So, Roberto "the one choosen by God with the ultimate knowledge and right to condemn...", can you PLS enlight us why the Nato troops didn't arrested him when they could have done it easily, ask the "we" that you always hide behind.
Can you also at the same time ask the "we" why did NATO block any investigation on CIA prisons a bit further in the South.

Am sure a lot of us would appreciated to see that you can also take your head out of the Serbian hatry box and enlight us with your deep knowledge of this region

Thank you

I would like to add a few statements just before some will be to cocky here.
1. Wait for the Pristina cables and read what US says about K Albanians, their leaders, criminality, who is doing what, who has done what, etc etc. THIS will be news and interresting. Mladic is a criminal yes. But no more criminal than many K Albaians in fancy suits.
2. If there was just a little shame in the K Albanians body, many would help to tip Eulex with the perpetrators that blew up the Nis-express, that shot the children in Gorazdevac, that killed the bus driver in Strepce, that killed the farmers in Staro Gracko etc etc. But no, cowards.

"...Kremlin has tried to undermine the Hague war crimes tribunal, which it sees as a Western instrument turned on Orthodox Slavs."

Aint that the truth! This Western instrument has been very costly though, at $50 million per Serbian conviction and we still aint bowing - it's going to be one extremely expensive excercise.

I'd say Mladic is long gone. He's probably having tea with Mira Markovic as we speak.

This is exactly what some of us have been reporting, for a good long time. of course, no surprises. the blgd regime harbors mass murderer mladic. then, and now. of course they could arrest him, pres-to!, if the political will were there, which it is not.

and of course mother russia supports the worst of the serbian fugitives, not just this mladic but also members of the milosevic clan and regime ancient. and no, they are not just "innocent" bystanders.

but nobody talks about them, because they are yesterday's news and not convenieint to the blgd regime's short-term goals.

mladic will be caught when the intl comm forces the issue -- not one minute earlier.

"most of the "information" in these cables has pretty much been known to anybody interested in the subject. What is new is that some topics that have been off-limits in certain countries are becoming available for public discussion." (Amer)

-- But here's the thing though: what we acknowledge as "already known" seems to be things that certain groups go to great lengths to hide. If Mladic's whereabouts are indeed known, I'm more concerned as to why no one has done anything to aprehend him. What might be even more interesting is if certain external powers aren't interested in his aprehension - you know, better to let (rabid) sleeping dogs lie?

"So much for ideological solidarity"

-- Haha. Ideology. Yeah, that's always a good way to explain things. I've become a cynical old fart in my years. Je¿ bandery pirackiej, pass me whatever you're not going to drink....

This is merely hearsay. It is speculative chatter that means little.

I bet that if you listened to any bunch of diplomats at boozy party you would hear every possible point of view expressed.

However, if it is ever proved true that a Serbian government is deliberately protecting Mladic, then Serbian credibility will be even lower than it was under Milosevic.

All the secrets are for our own good. Not!

A number of observations are correct though - Tadic is timid and indecisive, and probably exaggerates the indecisiveness to deflect demands from western officials.

I also think there is probably an element of charade to just how hardline Jeremic is. In a way Tadic is using him to neutralise criticism at home and abroad on both sides of the political spectrum.

Bulatovic was a complete no hoper from the start. A completely nobody who did what his political master told him who tried to place himself in a position only to find he had no support..

Tadić also stated that the Serbian government does not know where Mladić is hiding, and that he will be arrested as soon as he has been located. - B92
What else needs to be said? ALL governments do what is in their best interest, just look at ALL the cables coming out of Washington, espionage, blackmail, coercion, threats, and on and on. No one, or no government has the right anymore to point their finger at some other country, because ALL are dirty.

I completely agree - most of the "information" in these cables has pretty much been known to anybody interested in the subject. What is new is that some topics that have been off-limits in certain countries are becoming available for public discussion.

The details on the economic situation in Venezuela are particularly interesting: even Russian and Chinese businesses are not interested in investing if they aren't allowed to make a profit. So much for ideological solidarity.
