Know this: It is Serbia that needs these talks and in a lesser proportion Kosova.

Serbia will use this negociations only for their own benifit and that is:

1. not to recognize Kosova
2. give fuel to those who hasn't recognised our independance that Kosova can not come to an agreement with Serbia.

We need to delay these talks as much as possible untill your elections.

Asked whether Serbia was told that it must recognize Kosovo, as seen in U.S. diplomatic cables revealed by WikiLeaks, Jeremić said that should such a condition be set, it would be the end of the European process.

This has not happened yet, he said, adding that Serbia could not accept such a condition.

This has happened Vuk. You are told that "good neighborly relations" are a must for EU membership. You are told that there will not be another Cyprus case imported in the EU. If you believe that you will fool anyone into thinking that since the Serbian side is talking to the Albanian side everything is cool and Serbia will get some concession when it comes to EU accession you will be dissapointed.Looks like in the end it will come down to Serbia proposing partition of Northern Kosovo.Tadic & Jeremic playing good cop bad cop with the US and the EU forgeting that these countries invented the whole game to begin with.

"I think the Kosovo authorities should concede on the first topic (which side of the table each party will sit,.."

No, that's not the problem. The first big problem to discuss will be if the "country" of the participants will be shown on their name shields, and if yes, in which form (Serbia will insist on "UNMIK-Kosovo", Kosovo will insist on "Kosovo" (without UNMIK))

Serbia has no intention to discuss anything as it doesn't care about anything at all other than getting territory of Kosova under its arm. That is the beginning and the end of Serb diplomacy and these efforts from so called diplomats a.k.a Jeremic.
Other than changing the K-Status, Serbia will agree to nothing, even if it was in its benefit, regardless of what it is. That's because the one and the only goal in Serbia's "willingness" for so called talks is the very existence of the talks itself. By this Serbia hopes to hijack the momentum and use it as a pretext to ask for more time from those countries that are already under pressure to recognize Kosova. Although the talks might never mention the word status, the Serb diplomacy will pretend outside that it's actually about status. We have seen this almost every day how the stage is set by Belgrade to pretend that the talks will be about the status. In reality they will never mention the word as this will cause the talks to immediately stop which in turn would be the end of this last Serb tactic. The whole intention of Serbia is to keep talks alive, even if it means to talk about weather for months. They say one thing to the UN and EU and another in their press conferences.
I am confident that this is all known and a strategy is being worked out in Pristina. I also believe that the new elections were a tactical move to give Pristina some time to counteract this last Serbian game. The talk, if it were ever to start, will probably be enforced to have a very strict deadline for every topic to be discussed. I hope that this in turn will give Kosovars leverage on getting concessions on many topics as Serbs will be scared to death for the talks to fail right away. As per "harvard graduate" Mr. Jeremic, he needs to cruise the world few more times, before he thinks he can fool anyone.

Yet another example of failed dysfunctional temp inst in Pristina unable to get their act together. It's what happens when mafia-terrorists try to be 'politicians'. Albanians need our benevolent oversight to function
(highduke, 9 December 2010 11:02)
Only in your mind as you keep the Serbian blinders on, so as not to deviated from the nationlist cause.
Was it not last week that it was announced who would head the talks (some third rate politician with zero authority) and the "secret" platform. One week does not equal being ready for weeks.
I think the Kosovo authorities should concede on the first topic (which side of the table each party will sit, of course it will take many many trips and conferences with Serbian authorities in Belgrade to finalize) that will be the major accomplishment for the first 3 years then they can move to an agenda.
