nothing changed, Slovakia is bound to respect international law, and so, if some k-albanians feel the need to cheer about this, let them do so... =)

Kosovo is bound to respect the international law as well. The DOI is in accordance with International Law.

well, this is perhaps "news" for our dear k-albanian friends, but if you think about it, it´s just one of those endless repetitions in order to be able to bring some articles here...

Why is this a surprise? If Serbia were to recognise Kosovo as being separate from its territory, then pretty much everyone who hasn't recognised Kosovo will do so. It's just logic, really.

Any Slovaks here? Does anything ever happen in Slovakia? It seems like you people have nothing to do but repeat the same at least once a week.
(johny, 8 December 2010 21:32)

Not Slovak - but live about 40 minute drive from the border of Slovakia. Luckily (except the usual quarrel with Hungarians we don't even pay attention at anymore) not much happening there. That means in today world: no news = good news.

Otherwise nice country to travel, not very expensive. Sometimes you feel you are in France, LOL - see my pictures:

This person also said we have to reconsider our stance after ICJ stated that Kosovo's DOI in 2008 was in line with International Law.

Thanks for leaving that part out.
(KOSO, 8 December 2010 16:34)

It wont be the first or last time that important things in favor of Kosova are left out.

"I wasn't aware of a 60,000 Slovak community in Vojvodina. Is that true? or are the Slovaks trying to get some sort of concesssion?" (Zoti)

-- Maybe yes to both?

"...if Serbia agrees" is a neat way of placing your own refusal behind the refusal of another. Since Serbia will not agree, or will only agree after enormous concessions/changes have been made, Slovakia, like Spain, Greece, Romania, and many others can comfortably keep their positions for the indefitite future.

Not only Slovakia but the whole world with the 192 UN states slowly but surely,Serbia imagined for recruitment because of some recognition as one has not happened.Kosovo more quickly in some years has entered the UN. This will happen like its independence that the Serbs did not even have expected that would happensee in a few years or decade max, this will happen probably like all other processes that is without stopping because we know that England does not recognize America immediately after 6 years this happened

First it was "NO" whatever.
(The Eagle, 8 December 2010 13:39)

This is not correct, the only country with "NO, regardless of Serbia" was only Cyprus.
But that little country is a major headache for Tácsi bácsi - guess, why.

Now Slovakia is softening his stance.

If we wait a bit longer, they will recognize Kosova. Nothing to worry about.

Of course, and this is just how it should be. In fact I believe that one day, after negotiations are finished, and all agreements have been reached that satisfy both Serbs and ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, and if both parties agree to Kosovo's independence, then everyone should recognize Kosovo as a unique nation. Until then, though, most of the world's nations will not budge.
