Despite what many people thinks, Iran as a counter weight to israel, will make the region (and the world) a much safer place and will transform israel from an apartheid state to a normal democratic state with equal rights for all it´s citizens no matter what race or etnicity. Time to acknowledge Iran as a regional super power and treat it accordingly. Yes we have had our problems with certain elements in Iran and we can sort them out in due time, but transforming that obstacle to world peace and thereby stop the idiotic wars for it should be number 1 top priority.

Despite years of accusations, the US hasn't found a single shred of evidence to point to a nuclear weapons program in Iran.

One would argue the nuclear issue(WMD) is not the core of the US real argument with Iran.The real issue here is oil and the US consolidation of its position over
the production process(oil companies) and
the re-investement of the proceeds on the US military apparatus(Saudi Arabia just concluded an order of $60billion).I would also add that Iran's decision to ditch the US $ in its oil trading activities has enraged the US neocons a lot more than it's been reported because it directly challenges the US power or whatever is left of it.

I think that neither diplomacy nor compromise offer much hope while the neo-cons running the US regardless of which party is in government and whose foreign policies are dictated by the corporate oligarchy who is in charge.
