"Swift and honest Kosovo negotiations"

Kosovo negotiations should be swift and honest, and the “wrong state strategy towards Kosovo shouldn't repeat,“ believes Vuk Drašković.

Dimtuci,

you must be living under a rock. The talks between Kosovo and Serbia will be about technical issues; Kosovo's sovereignty is not up for grabs.

Being a nationalist and being logical are two different things. Draskovic, without a doubt has no love for K Albanians but he can see where Kostunica's style policies will do to Serbia. He thinks straight and suggests a way out as opposed to the insanity of Jeremic and Samardzic who continue to behave in the same
autistic manner of confrotation without a goal.

“Whatever Draskovic says can be taken with a grain of salt, he is as big a nationalist as they come,” and from the other side, “Draskovic suffers from the beating he took from Milosevic's police. Nobody listens to his ramblings and his influence is non-existant.” And perhaps both statements have a large degree of truth. In fact, I probably tend to agree. And yet, so what? While the messenger is being (perhaps correctly) shot, is it really so terrible that Draskovic argues that “Serbia should “conditionally adopt” the so-called non-statutory part of the Martti Ahtisaari plan, but it should request that it be reinforced in some segments with solutions from the Z-4 plan,” which was offered before to Serbs in Croatia.”
He is neither accepting nor rejecting Kosovo/a’s independent status up front here; but neither is he leaving the actual situation of Serbs in K unchanged. He is actually suggesting something like an upgraded version of the Ahtisaari Plan, with the autonomous status of the Serb regions upgraded. And I ask all of you: from the point of view of beginning a *dialogue*, isn’t this rather a constructive suggestion? You may not agree with it, but surelyt it is worth discussing, instead of simply having mud thrown.

The sooner the Serb people, Gov't and Church recognize Kosovo and the Serb gov't arrest Mladic, the sooner the foot of the West will be lifted from the throat of Serbia. Both these conditions must be met. Then, and only then, will Serbia be accepted into the EU and NATO.

Whatever Draskovic says can be taken with a grain of salt, he is as big a nationalist as they come.

More and more voices from Serbia that gather strength to say the truth to their own people:

Serbian approach to all negotiation with and about Kosova was always dishonest.
