Lets put it this way. When Serbia yields 1/10 of the importance of the Bronx, then you may be onto something.

peggy

Because the other option is brute force and Serbia isn't important enough to use brute force. So a few lies and some candy will do.

I see. Don't waste a bullet on a Serb. Use something else.
I think I heard that somewhere before. Oh wait, it was the Croats saying the same thing during WW2.

Please stop being ridiculous.

Why go to so much trouble if Serbia is not important?
Just tell the Serbs to suck it up and that will be that.

Maybe Serbia is that important so they have to tread lightly and cannot just say you lost Kosovo, get over it.

Actually a true statement, neither the US nor EU are going to give up on making Kosovo successfully independent. Of course they will have to pretend to court Serbia and make them feel important and needed. Many carrots will be held out but each will be attached to a string, a string that leads to the permanent separation of Serbia's claim on Kosovo.

At the end of the day, the US and the EU will decide about how to go on with their "project" of an multiethnic dream state of Kosovo.

Everybody is welcome on the negociation table, Russia, Brasil, India, China, EU, US, UN, ... name it and let them sit between Kosovars & Serbs (Serbia).

This will only confirm the independance of Kosova.

tch tch,

UNMIK has the LEAST important role to play. and what serbia deems important is irrelevant insofar as kosovo is concerned.

serbia MUST sit down across the table from representatives of kosovo.

there can be mediators lined up around the block.. serbia will desperately seek to have a middleman sit between the two... but that simply will not happen and there is no confusion on anyones part...except it seems, for serbia that they are walking into direct talks.

The EU resolution sent to UN (inspired by Jeremic) was for direct talks between the government of Kosovo and Serbia...now he wants unmik? wtf? FYI, EULEX was also agreed by Belgrade, just in case your computer is having trouble access wikipedia mr. phantom minister.

I didn't know you are Albanian because only recently certain Mark claimed, he is not. So I winder...

1) Mistaken identity?
2) Identifying yourself with someone else?
3) Patronizing Albanians and speaking on their behalf?
4) Endless bias and acceptance of one side and endless bias and hatred of the other side.
5) Seeking for enemy because you need "us" versus "them" badly.

My guess: 5) + 4) + 3)

I think, we are guests on Balkans, so probably we should act like guests.

Don't wonder. I am 100% albanian. And i have never hidden my nationality.Maybe someone else here uses the same username.Dude i have more right to speak in behalf of albanians than any serb in this world.

State Secretary for Kosovo Oliver Ivanović says the UN and its mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) had a very important part to play in the coming Kosovo dialogue.
This, according to Ivanović, "because they represented the only organizations acceptable for both sides, which made them irreplaceable for the process".

Mr.Ivanovic you have problems with the Albanians not the UN or the UNMIK. You don't make the rules so speak about your side and let us decide what is acceptable or not for us.

This is good chance for you to show UN that at least you are doing some foot work. You can monitor all you want, but will nevere be able to speak on behalf of Kosova, like the way it was before Feb. 17 2008
