It is obvious that the Serbian Church is now in lock-step with Tadic on Serbia's "Europe has no alternative" perspective. It is also obvious which part of the church loves all of Serbia, including KiM, and it is not the church led by Irinej.

I think we may hear very soon that ; now monk Artemije will be the Bishop of Russian Orthodox Church in Serbia.

Agime, Good to see that you are concerned about who will be leader of the various religious communities in your country Serbia. Just remember we can pull out of this abyss by "Not asking what Serbia can do for us, but what we can do for Serbia"

This is ridiculous. 25 years ago Konuzin was a dedicated atheist Soviet apparatchik. Just like Putin, Medvedev, and the rest of them. Given Putin's KGB credentials, he was probably torturing Russian Orthodox priests.

I guess you are looking for the meaning of defrocking. Here is it:
(Joe, 23 November 2010 18:35)

I went into the Russian text to understand the meaning better, but not sure how Russian URL will be handled by B92. There the practice of "defrocking" in Orthodox church is explained much better than in the English text, it's not the same text. Hence the reaction because the consequences are harder and it is not somewhat they do on the daily basis. Also if you pay attention, the name of Father Damjan was mentioned on B92 a few days ago - and I don't have a good feeling about all this.

Ataman, I guess you are looking for the meaning of defrocking. Here is it:

"To defrock, unfrock, or laicize ministers or priests is to remove their rights to exercise the functions of the ordained ministry. This may be due to criminal convictions, disciplinary matters, disagreements over doctrine or dogma. It may also be voluntarily for personal reasons (taking over a family business, declining health, running for civil offices, old age, or for various other reasons). Various Christian denominations have different procedures for doing this."

I think the proper english term is: " tresspassing".

How far the "defrocking" went? I never heard that word in English, so had to look up the dictionary. Ouch...if it does mean "расстрижение" than it's pretty heavy-handed thing to say the least and is a very rare event.

I did hear some rumors regarding this case, they sounds pretty ugly to say the least. I do not want to comment more on these only that probably it has to do more with K** than we think. Also hearing about Father Damjan wasn't good, my only hope is that it's an other Father Damjan than whom I heard about.
