Now in its 10th year, the US-led intervention is widely seen as going badly for Washington and its allies. It has failed to stop a Taliban insurgency and foreign casualties have hit record levels.

Despite all the troop surges the grim realisation of defeat for the Us & nato forces in Afganistan is slowly hitting home.

It's another dark page in the history of the US army after Korea,Vietnam,Lebanon,Somalia
and Iraq.I forgot they managed to beat Grenada and Panama when they arrested their agent druglord noriega.
Chairman Mao was spot on when he said the US were a paper tiger.

Still thinking of taking on China? Forget it for your own sake.

So Nato now appears bent on leaving regarless of the outcome? Obviously the body bags and financial drain must have taken their toll!

Let me offer a poetic conjecture: "They came, they saw, they failed to conquer. Instead they will leave with their tails between whatever's left of their legs!" :) :) :)
